Why not that say that then ha, I bet I ain’t only one here that never heard word asinine pal......and believe or not I was pretty good at English at school......I can never get my head round why folks send messages/emails or whatever with words in that only a thesaurus can identify lol..... we got a few at work that do same.......only kidding mate
True and just to further highlight that we didn't sign any out and out strikers this window, the replacement that they signed to replace Rodriguez is a winger which explains why he looks every bit the winger in the videos we've all seen of him. Because he is one. Makes the fact that he's the only attacking player brought in even more frustrating.
I don't think it's fair to blame the data analyst or any one person within the recruitment team, but the recruitment team as a whole is clearly not up to the job. Either they are identifying players out of our reach (which is pointless) or they're just not currently identifying anyone in key areas. Either way it's extremely worrying and demonstrates a failure within the department.
This isn’t a BFC issue though. You have to wait until the player becomes available. The reason why it’s last minute for nearly every club is they might be waiting on multiple other clubs about a myriad of players as well. It’s like a chain in a house purchase. If the chain collapses then everyone in that chain is affected. Im sure every club would like to get their business done early, but it’s impossible when so many clubs are relying upon the transfer of loads of players not even in their own chain. It’s far more complicated than anyone outside of football can even imagine.
Look at Arsenal. Desperately needed a striker, couldn't get one in. Now Kai Havertz is out for the season as well as Jesus, so they'll be playing Martinelli/Trossard there until May.
They will have been relying upon loads of transfers happening around Europe for the one they wanted to become available. Fans think it’s easy, make bid - sign player. It’s really nothing like that, particularly nowadays.
Why is the recruitment team a secret....Come on, if you were part of the recruitment team at present, would you seriously, want your name out there, in the public Domain...I bet they 5.hit themselves at the very thought of it lol
Not only that, players and agents know that the later they leave it the more desperate clubs become and the more money they can squeeze out.
I take your point, it is complex and not straight forward but 2 things. 111 days over 2 transfer windows with prep time before each window, should be achievable to bring in a number 9, not easy but certainly very achievable. We always hear that it's a difficult market and difficult to bring players in, that said isn't it the same for clubs with similar resources to us, Lincoln got Collins in early and we never seem to have issues getting players out at lightening speed e.g Killip and Lofthouse in what we are calling a difficult difficult market, be the same for clubs of similar size surely. It's been a shocking transfer window of that there is no doubt.
