Anybody read this book? currently about 40 pages in circa 1907, fantastic insight into our History from beginnings to the 2 FA Cup finals. Never knew before Barnsley St Peters that Barnsley Victoria FC 1877 folded 1883 Barnsley Wanderes FC 1877 folded 1884 and became Barnsley Rising Star and also Barnsley Westgate all existed before us. Also found (through Google) some photos of 1912 cup run including the final from a French newspaper I hadn't seen before.
On the front cover team photo, the bloke in the green cap has a lot going on in his shorts. Ferret maybe?
It's absolutely fascinating mate a brilliant read so far, unbelievable to hear about the Reds playing on a slopping pitch behind the Dove Inn, is the Dove still up for sale/closing? Be really sad if it did.
Can I ask where you found it? I have a particular interest in that era as I'm related to Arthur Fairclough through my mother.

I believe this is put together by AI trawling the web for anything that might fit. The picture deemed to be of the Winners is actually from 1910. Tommy Boyle the captain is front and centre.
It's written by Don Gillan an Author from Pudsey, part of an 8 part series, think there are editions for Bradford City 1911 and Bury's 2 cup wins, Sheff utd 1904 and a few others etc not sure about the image but it's not AI it's definitely by the Author mentioned
I am working on a time machine. Until a few years ago I could only get it to go forward slowly. Recently, however, it seems to be going faster.
On the scale of things we are here for a very short time. Make the most of it. Old age creeps up quickly as they say lol. And time flies the older you get.
