Enjoyable but thought Oliver had a stinker. Gueye has to go in the first half. It made it a better game 11 v 11 but a top level ref can’t be missing that.
As soon as he started slinging yellows around in the first half, then the job was fcked. Meant he had nowhere to go in the second. Terrible ref.
I agree. Let a few challenges go. If he'd brandished a second yellow to anyone. More of his decisions would have been scrutinised.
What a nasty, spiteful game that was. All the way through. “Injured players” rolling in agony every few minutes. That ending was an absolute disgrace to the game. So much for friendly rivalry amongst Scousers
To be honest I do enjoy the drama although I did think there was a bit of karma in N’Diaye limping off a few minutes after diving to win the free kick they scored from.
That was barely even a foul to be fair SD! I did think Liverpool were a bit unlucky - I reckon most games in the greed league that shove on Konate leading to the Tarkowski goal is given as a foul - and the first goal was never a free kick either.
Didn’t see the whole game, but very “blood and thunder” in the parts I saw. Just heard Moyes interview and noted that that draw moved them above West Ham in the table. Really pleased for David Moyes, he’s been **** on twice at West Ham and once at Man Utd, both teams would be in a better position with him still at the helm.
That equaliser was dubious. Looked well off. They (eventually) drew a line so thick that it deemed Virgil Van Pines played him on. Then a blatant shove.
Definitely thought he was onside, Van Dijk’s shoulder was playing him on (in the frame they showed). It was a shove but was it a clear and obvious error? There was no way they were sending the ref to monitor for it. Anywhere else on the pitch and it would have been ignored.
David Moyes is a very good manager I think his brother is an agent and was part of the consortium that tried to buy us many moons a go if I'm not mistaken
They were never disallowing that goal. Once it wasn't off side. Cut and dried. That's why Michael Oliver is so poor as a ref. He's impartial but gets caught up in the occasion.
