They may be, but the as the Americans have a huge number of military personnel and hardware in Poland then I would assume they are pretty certain the Russian military won’t be knocking on the door just yet. That said, the orange buffoon in Washington will probably either withdraw them to make it easier for his master to invade
No, it was tongue in cheek, but who would have thought that he would want a Riviera of the Middle East? He is well known to spout $hite to get what he wants.
Given Musk and Trump want to absolutely butcher government spending, I can definitely see overseas military support and stationing coming under pressure once a ceasefire and Ukraine land giveaway occurs.
I believe Blackrock & other huge corporations already have rights & contracts to 'rebuild' half of Ukraine, don't they mate?
That’s what I was thinking, without going down the nuclear route,Russia would stand no chance against a unified European bloc
Sounds like when he invited the Taliban to Camp David to negotiate the withdrawal from Afghanistan - without informing the Afghani government.
We've got to look forward and try and predict what could be and not in effect view things through todays prism. There are a number of countries with growing numbers of far right parties, some stating positives about Russia and Putin, and a little uptick in far left parties which are naturally aligned with communism. If you look at the European map, a factionalised schism in Germany and France where it eventually gains power, well.. It changes our world dramatically, as would a UK fascist government that would defer governing to a covertly pro Russian Washington if a nationalist government is in situ there. I also think the West considers things short term. The East, China even more so, are content to wait years and decades to get to the objective.
I don’t know if they interfered with the election or not but some years ago it’s well documented that he relied on Russian ‘investors’ to bail him out https://foreignpolicy.com/2018/12/21/how-russian-money-helped-save-trumps-business/
If you haven't seen it yet, Katya Adler's new programme on the BBC, ' The Balkans, Europe's forgotten Frontier', is interesting and worrying in equal measures.
Warfare is a means to an end. That ‘means’ is very, expensive, unpredictable and kills a lot of people. The ‘end’ that warfare is used for, is to gain control and economic dominance for the aggressor. Maybe worrying about the nuclear missiles and invasions is outdated 20th century thinking. What if the future lies with dominant powers, out for more control and economic dominance, who start to do deals rather than use warfare? First, they’d have to clean up the wars being fought of course. A bit of genocide and ethnic cleansing might be needed. Messy, but one of your allies could take care of it. You stroll in and take the spoils. Even better you could do a deal with another dominant power. Let them have control over country they’ve already invaded in return for some economic return. You’ve stopped war. Peacemaker! No one got hurt, no one died. Well, some did but they don’t matter. So, no fighting. Just smart deals for economic control. Beautiful. And anyway who’s going to stop you?
Apparently someone in Denmark has started a petition to get their government to to put an offer in to buy California...
Hegseth is an idiot. It seems he has two objectives, to p*ss off Europe and Ukraine as much as he can, while dodging reasonable questions to give his answers as worshipping at Trumps god complex altar. Would also be useful if he realised "Kiev" is the Russian pronunciation of the Ukrainian capital.
