1) The owners, to halt the accelerating depreciation in capital value of their investment. But then you'll be moaning in the summer when there's no money's available to buy players because it all been spaffed on sacking Clarke and the backroom team. 2) Paul Warne. You're living on cloud cuckoo land if you think he'd be interested in the role and working with our current owners. I think he'd take one look at the job role and piss himself laughing. FWIW I do think Clarke will go before the end of the season and that will be agent Mladen trying to save himself from the axe. However, I think people are in for a shock as to who may replace Clarke, likely to be another L2 representative or Johnny foreigner no one has every heard of.
So your view is he shouldnt be sacked for the sole reason that we might manage to find someone even worse/cheaper?
Eh? I said people may be shocked as to the calibre of head coach we go for. The head coach role at BFC is not an attractive job. In addition, I also said I think he will go before the end of the season. For now I would give him more time but appreciate I am probably in the minority. He's been badly let down by the board but he needs to start showing signs of improvement pretty quickly.
Yes it is. What is it about people from Barnsley? Constantly doing themselves and the town down. Of course its an attractive job. We're massively historically underachieving and anyone with an ounce of competence could turn it around in months.
Gunuine next question: how long will you give Paul Warne, and what are your criteria for him being successful? And if it transpires that Paul Warne doesn't fancy the gig, who else have you got?
Any HC who is provided with suitable resources including a balanced squad could have a decent go at turning it around with the aim of a top 6 finish. Unfortunately I don't trust these current owners to get that right and therefore I don't think at present it is an attractive role. If Clarke goes then IMO nothing will change unless there's a full clear out higher up. New ownership please.
FWIW I said when we’d won 4 on the bounce at Xmas that I still don’t trust Clarke & he’ll get praise from me when he turns our home form around & makes us consistent. Since then he’s made us consistent alright, he’s taken us to levels I don’t think was possible in this league. Consistently ***** whilst the likes of Wrexham, Stockport, Leyton Orient & Wycombe are head & shoulders above us. You absolute cretin.
Let’s go back to this again, shall we. Towards the back end of the season how many goals were conceded down Cadden’s side? A hell of a lot. Earl had a decent start with us & suggested he’d played LWB before & I thought we had to change it up to stop that rot at the time. Cadden’s having a decent season in the SPL - had I known now we’d have signed a 20 year old kid who can’t beat a man, is weak & constantly gets beaten I’d have 100% kept Cadden in the summer. He’s so much better than Gent, not going to share opinions on Farrugia as he’s barely played. Another ode to last summers recruitment…..
The board failed to get Richie Wellens in the summer, they failed to sell this job to him to the point that he went & signed a new deal with Leyton Orient. Leyton ******* Orient. Ryan Lowe, Des Buckingham, Paul Warne are all available - so was Schumacher at Xmas. They’ll not push the boat out for one of these though, it’ll be another Foreigner or Farsley Celtics previous gaffer.
And therein lies the problem. The Barnsley FC head position should be an attractive role given the history of our club but at present I'd argue it's not due to these owners. I know I'm now in a minority when I say give Clarke more time but he's got to start showing signs of improvement pretty damn quickly. FWIW I think Mladen will more than likely sack him before the end of the season to save himself. I like those names you've listed above but when they look at the restrictions our HC's work under they'd run a mile. We've become a shambles off the field too.
Good job I’m thick skinned & not a ‘slimy sample of jizz’… I couldn’t give a ***** in all honesty, doesn’t bother me. Don’t apologise, own it.
OK fair enough, I'll own it. You're a negative arsehole who can't wait for us to lose. You never post when we win, then whenever we lose a game you turn up here with a raging erection. It does my nut in. So go and **** yourself.
I’ve already said after those 4 wins what I said, he still couldn’t be trusted & he’ll only get recognition from me when he gets us consistent at home. He’s not capable of doing that. If that doesn’t fit your agenda, nothing will.
You've not said who you'd like to replace DC, you've just listed who is available and provided a list of head coaches/managers that have all got the sack at their respective clubs for not winning enough football matches. I love the irony.
It's getting a bit silly on here with the personal insults. The bottom line is we all want success for BFC and some of us measure that differently to others, however in the most part that helps by having a competitive team and decent product on the pitch! That will certainly mask over any off the field issues! I disagree with pretty much everything Scott posts, I don't like the personal insults he throws at Clarke. He doesn't like him nor does he want him in charge but there's no need to get personal. I feel like I'm in an every growing minority of posters on here who are saying give Clarke more time (FWIW I think Mladen will sack him before the end of the season) but he needs to start showing signs of improvement pretty damn quickly. I still have that view that changing the HC won't do a lot unless there are bigger changes higher up but let's wait and see. Onto the next one!
Bfc have had one season in the top flight and won the fa cup in 1912. It is a poor club money wise, however, ground and training set up are good. Enough players have pulled on the red shirt and gone on to greater things, our own and loan players, plus managers. This should be sold to everyone, sign on and see where you end up. A good fee on departures then in come the next ones. It's not ideal but we aren't a famous, well paying club.
Personal insults? I’ve not thrown any towards Clarke on here? I’ve said he’s ******* useless at managing this football club but that’s not personal, that’s just saying things how it is. If you want to look at personal then I’d suggest going back through my posts to see the ‘kind’ replies I get on here…..
