I see absolutely no point in doing so. We have low league quality employees running the club Low league quality employees working at the club sadly Low league quality coaching staff Low league quality players Why are we shocked that we have had low league quality manager after manager? Why would we suddenly employ a higher league quality manager? And why would anyone decent come here to work with this bunch of misfits? We need to sort out the club from top to bottom. Start at the top and change our entire strategy and approach and then worry about which manager we are going to get. Because frankly it matters not one but which 'head coach' we bring in to work under a neuroscientist's direction at a club that can't even get the basics right.
Some of that I agree with but criticism of 'employees' is wide of the mark. It implies you're having a go at all staff. Also, are all the players lower league? I don't think they are. Some are, some are stealing wages even at this level, but not all.
There might be a few good ones left but we seem to have lost most of our good employees and replaced with cheap. I honestly don't think we've got any good players in the team. A few average but none that are consistently any good.
We've seen average players playing above themselves before for us and for other teams. It's the manager that motivates them. We were in complete control of the game at half time. Whatever he said at half time was obviously the wrong thing, added to more baffling substitutions, that 2nd half performance was unacceptable. All on the manager for me.
Would you have said that at half-time yesterday, after witnessing some top-class long passing from Nwakali? The 50 yard ball to O'Keeffe, in particular, is etched upon my memory. I don't see how you can make out that he, for example, is an average player. He would fit well into a far better side than we have. Phillips is also much better than merely "average".
I will live you Nwakali. The guy should be nowhere near league 1 imo, way too good. Phillips is nowhere near consistent enough to be anything more than average. Capable of smashing one into the top corner but also very capable of being totally anonymous for weeks at a time
Stick with him and crank up the pressure on Sormaz to deliver some balance to the squad. (Although I'd love to have Big Val back )
I reckon he's gone as soon as the play offs are mathematically out of reach. I think it might be written into his contract that the minimum aim this season was play offs, or at least touching distance of them.
Id guess that your right mate, deflection and desperation to generate interest for season ticket sales will see him get the bullet.
I think it will be around Early Bird time, they'll save the sack Clarke card for poor uptake in tickets, they've pretty much used up all their credit now and need to hold something back as insurance. Wheel out Hourihane to get the numbers going
I'll repost what I said last night. On reflection, I'm standing by it... The decent players we have, have gone backwards. The rest of them have made zero improvement. He's stripped the squad of whatever talent they had and whatever enjoyment they got from playing. To a man none of them look like they want to be out there. Unfortunately that comes back to the head coach and to a lesser degree, his staff. I'm not a knee-jerk 'sack the manager' sort, but why persist with something that hasn't, and clearly isn't, going to work. He simply cannot manage us. For that, he absolutely has to go.
Considering the season is over in terms of play off aspirations, sacking him right now would be pointless, & would just make us look even more basket case. Assess at the end of the season for me.
I still go back to the fact that the side has created numerous great chances in loads of games and if the forwards had been able to hit the proverbial cows arse with a banjo, we would be well in the top six , the defence wouldn't be under constant pressure and confidence wouldn't be a problem.
Hourihane nailed on. Then in October he announces his focus is on joining the media team as that was always his plan going forward.
You left off "Does it matter?" No one gives a f cuk now. We won't go down. Season over. Cheltenham and Aintree to come. Lincoln at Donny. Meadow hall and clucking hens will know we're crap. Season over.
Only reason to sack him now would be to bring in Warne, which ain't going to happen, so he might as well stay and sack him at the end of the season along with Sormaz. And, if Hourihane was good enough to take over we wouldn't be as bad as we are now.
