Sorry if this has been done before, this weekend I’ve took some flak off mates on various WhatsApp groups about being rose tinted, stupid etc for the backing of the board.

I’ve had, ‘there milking the club’ ‘where’s money going’ ‘we’ve signed players Clarke didn’t want’

The above are rubbish imo but what I’d love to know is what do they see in Barnsley FC? There wealthy business owners so why do they keep pumping millions into us, btw I’m very grateful to them but how much more money will they jkeep pumping in before they think……..what’s the end goal here? Surely they have a cut off point

I have no idea. It's not a realistic business option to just keep pumping money in with no reward- unless it's some sort of tax reduction strategy?? We need to know

Been done before, lots, but it's a valid and oft-repeated question. There is no viable sinister plan to use the club land and assets for other purposes. They appear to be pumping money into the club without any credible plan to improve the club's playing squad or league position. It's hard to be grateful to them if they're just attempting to keep the club afloat - I'd sooner they didn't waste their money for their own sake. It's a bit of a conundrum.

Nareev said when he first joined Barnsley he came as an investor. When he became chairman he said he had developed a love for the club and the town.

I honestly can’t see what there objective is with it and it’s by no means a dig at them as I think there genuine people who have took over a shop with holes in, may holes and there trying to plug them as fat as they can but as they plug 1 another 2 appear…….what really worries me is will they get to a ceiling point and walk away? If that happens then I dread to think what we’d do

Milk there's nothing to milk were losing money that's a fact. To answer what's in for them as it stands is nothing only losing more of there money. I think they came to realise they didn't have a clue how to run a football club so income a new CEO,DOF and secretary with a football background. These three have been given the job of running the football club and let's face it they have not made a great start which might be a understatement. As much as we are frustrated and angry can you imagine if you were paying for there incompetence.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him twice, only in limited capacity and he does seem a really down to earth nice guy, and as I thanked PC for saving club all them years back I also thank Nareev too for saving us from them 2 arseholes before him, but business people don’t often squander money either

They are squandering money left right and centre, we've got a DOF that we've never had before, we've got more coaches than we've ever had before, yet we are in decline. The DOF has created a totally unbalanced and bloated squad.
In my opinion they need some help from a proper football person with a real emphasis on the first team and making every penny count, rather than constant punts that just fritters money away.

Had offers to sell last season by all accounts so you wonder why they didn't and kept losing money hand over fist instead of cutting their losses.

It's sad to see he's put quite abit of money in now money that invested properly should have us challenging at the top end. I just don't think he has a clue how to run a football club and neither do the people he's appointed.

This is my problem with the protests - for me they should be reserved for situations where owners are deliberately running clubs into ground (Blackpool, Reading etc). Not for us where they are inept but genuinely trying. I've no idea what they are trying to do but not deliberately knackering the club. So I'm not in for protests. Yet at least........

But three he's employed all have football/sporting background and all looked decent appointments on paper. I get as it stands they look anything but good but it's easy with hindsight.

The automatic promotion was achieved with players mostly signed under Crynes stewardship. I personally think the championship playoffs were achieved despite the owners rather than because of them we had a manager who went his own way and because it worked they couldn't stop him. it's been a downhill spiral since the championship playoffs with a lower position in the league at the end of every season and a weaker squad at the end of every window before the last one and time will tell on that one. The biggest problem / worry is the fact that while maintaining a downward trajectory they are having to pump millions in, they are literally spending millions making the club worse and their cheer leaders just gloss over that fact.

Stendel had nothing to do with the promotion then , they are putting millions in but not as debt to the club its share issues Cryne had to put money in , football finances are bonkers but we are still in a better position financially than most . Personally think it’s the decision making around managers and some recruitment, in part that’s on the owners but I’d be looking at Mladdin

I think once the play off's are no longer possible the owner should announce a cull at all levels at Oakwell. If he wants to put some more money in hire a specialist efficiency firm to examine all aspects of the operation and once the report hits his desk act on it before next season. Fail to act and he'll need to put more money in to cover lost season ticket revenue next year.
