Used to like watching Spurs when Redknapp was in charge. No idea why, I just think I liked the fact that they were a solid Prem team with obvious quality, but you never knew what the result was likely to be.

Born and lived the first 10 years of my life in Norwich so I’d have to say them. Always look for their scores.

Partner is from Bradford so look out for their scores now too. In recent years she’s said she’ll only go to a Barnsley match if it’s against Bradford. That could well happen next season.

Forest were my first ever football match - I went with a school friend and his dad as the substitute on his mum's season ticket.

After that, my uncle, who was a Man Utd fan, took to me Old Trafford for several games; but, we only rarely got tickets in the ballot to go see them, and instead I started going with a friend and his dad to Barnsley matches in the 1996/97 season - the rest in history.

Now living in the East Midlands, I've given each of my sons the choice of following Barnsley like me, or we could go see a local team (Forest, Leicester, Burton, or Notts County) - they've both chosen Barnsley, despite all their friends supporting local clubs/Liverpool/Man City; it makes me happy, but sometimes I can't help thinking that they've made the wrong decision.

Always gave Newcastle a look as they're not plastic fans..Liverpool were the kings of Europe as I grew up in the 70's. Worked 20 yrs in Leeds so hard to ignore them although if this was a favourite 2nd Yorkshire team I'd pick huddersfield

Could never support another club if barnsley went bust. Id go games and follow with intent but the feeling would never match what I feel towards Barnsley. The closest I'd be to feeling passion would be Scarborough Athletic.

Teams I keep an eye on are York, Scunthorpe(friend), and oddly enough Petrolul in Romania due to playing with them when I used to play football manager back around 2007-2010, dont really know why they had an effect on me but often remember it fondly so always check on them.

Whereas I wouldn’t call any of them a second team as such, I like to see the local non-league teams do well, especially Penistone Church. Other than that I look out for teams that my mates support (Exeter, Spurs, Scunthorpe, Arsenal). When me and Molly of this parish were completing the 92, we decided that if Barnsley went tits up we’d follow Accrington Stanley, as we loved it there so much. But we were made to feel equally welcome at our 92nd, Exeter, which we’d left till last because a good mate of ours is a fan.

I was talking about other clubs this afternoon with my brother in law, funnily enough, and we both said we liked Aston Villa as a kid. Me because I liked Andy Gray, so my allegiance switched to Wolves when he went there. I was already a firm Reds fan by this time though. Gray also played in my favourite non-Reds team of my lifetime, the Everton team of the mid-80s. They were so good to watch and would surely have won the European Cup were it not for the ban. In my time in Liverpool I knew quite a few Everton fans who hadn’t forgiven their neighbours for robbing them of that opportunity. I moved to Liverpool in 88, so that Everton team had started to break up by then, but I still got to see some of the players and played against one of them for the hospital in a charity match.

Was Rushden and Diamonds when I was a kid; used to go and see them when Barnsley weren't playing.

More recently it's always been Wimbledon. They're one of my best mate's teams and I've been to a few of their games over the years including their playoff final to get into League 2 when they beat Luton
