They are putting millions in I said as much the issue is they are putting millions in and taking the club backwards. Every season we've finished lower in the league than the season before that is a fact. But it is a fact that the boards cheerleaders gloss over they are literally spending money to make us worse in the words of a certain clown they are spaffing money up the wall.

The quality of our signings in recent years has certainly dipped. In the latter years of Patrick Cryne's stewardship, when he himself played a large part in recruitment, we signed Hammill, Hourihane, Winnall, Watkins, Mawson, Roberts, Pinnock, Lindsay, Mowatt and loanees Ryan Kent, Harvey Barnes etc.

    Bit harsh including the Secretary?
Their job is to complete paperwork and make sure we are compliant, they don’t make decisions on the playing side.

That might be fair but the point I was trying to make is they put these people in place to run the football club. I'm sure the secretary is the least senior of these roles but they have tried to put in place people with solid football/sporting backgrounds to run the club on there behalf.

I must have missed those reports relating to offers to buy the club.

Who was it and when? Can you point me in the right direction so that I can read about it?

Their goal is to be successful, to get promotion to the championship. It's the 'how' they are massively struggling with. Maybe even the why.

I think they've entered the stage of gambling addicts. Just one more try, the luck has to change soon. Yet blind to failings, particularly their own.

They obviously have other things in their business interests that are time consuming, and therein lies part of the problem. It should be the owners reviewing decisions, operations and delivery of projects with their own eyes. But being further away isn't helping them do that. They are therefore reliant on the business execs they employ, and like head coaches, we go through cycles where a good one might be headhunted and a bad one is sacked.

I also wonder what the relations at board level are like. James being no longer involved must have been a clash point, one way or another, and being repeatedly asked to dig deep is going to rankle, particularly the longer it persists.

Just get a proper manager in and let them crack on none of this philosophy b******s, if it means paying a bit more it's probably cheaper in the long run than continuing with this dreadful idea we currently have.
Get identifying who's contracts are up in the summer and start making offers now, not August, now and get some leadership in that group.
We really make life hard for ourselves at times

We are like the kids old toy. It’s no longer played with but try taking it away and it is all of a sudden ‘my favourite toy’.

Yep I would imagine they run the club with senior board members having to sign off on matters of spending or the bigger decisions. This just a guess I'm certainly not in the know. Not been a great start massive summer up coming in my opinion the biggest in many a year's.

Ann Hough joined in March last year after the FA cup debacle. I think part of the reason for her appointment was to prevent things like that happening again.

Why does anyone want to own and run a football club?

If it was a local businessman (like Cryne) it would be for the love of the club and community. With this lot I don't think that applies, they certainly aren't in it for financial gain. Prestige? I don't think so unless we miraculously get 2 promotions back to the greed league, which won't happen without a massive injection of serious money.

I really do miss Patrick Cryne.

I’m probably the type referred to on here as one of the boards cheerleaders. If you want to know why I think the board deserves a bit better than protests and abuse, particularly the chants calling them greedy and stating they don’t care about fans, have a look at KV Oostende in Belgium. Conway and Lee wouldn’t have stumped up the cash when we got relegated with the wages of the two Belgians and Benson, the burden of the Covid loans along with the standard drop in finance you get after relegation. I’m not saying we’d have gone out of business but I doubt we’d have had back to back top 6 finishes. It doesn’t mean I don’t get frustrated with the current board at times but I appreciate that they stepped up when we needed it because the reality could be far worse than where we are now. Hopefully Huddersfield was our low point and we can get some positivity back around the club. I’m sick of loosing as i’m sure everyone else is.
