Watched last half hour or so of their win at Wrexham tonight. Cracking side built with not too much money spent and shrewd use of the loan market. Play a solid 4-2-3-1 with everyone knowing their jobs, defenders throwing their bodies on the line, midfield with graft and flair in equal measure. They’re streets in front of us. Not that hard to assemble a decent side at this level if you know what you’re doing.
Didn't wellens come here in the summer to speak about the managers job but decided against it and signed a new deal there. I fancy them in the play offs.
10 points behind them now. 10 points. 10 points behind Leyton Orient… 10 points off the play-off places. Criminal how he’s still in a job. Absolutely criminal.
Wrexham nearly pinched it in the last minutes of extended extra time. Anyway that puts them TEN points clear of us in 6th spot so you could argue that the playoffs finally died tonight. That probably happened several games ago but I think we can forget it now. We’re 11th after Lincoln win 3-0 away so how much further can we slide?
Tells you quite a bit when Orient seem like a better place to further your career than move to our busted football club and we ended up employing a bloke that just got a relegated and wondered why he can’t get a team going at the top end. Hes used to failing and putting a brave face on it.
If he did talk to us I reckon it might have been to use us to get himself an improved deal at Orient….
Wouldn't be surprised if we get shut of Clarke when we mathematically can no longer achieve the play offs. Could be something in his contract if he doesn't achieve that that's it. Based on purely guess work.
Mathematically impossible could still be a bit off yet but it’s already nigh on impossible now. 10 points off is really 11 with our poor goal difference.
I know people have different opinions on Wellens but I was hoping for him to be appointed last summer, but of course he's had time at Leyton Orient to build a good solid team, so who knows. Playoffs look well beyond us now.
They get not great gates close to many big teams, almost went out of business a few season ago. People who say no one would be interested in us I don't buy it.
Well I sure don’t get why our current owners want to keep us. They’re continually pumping cash in and making us worse every season. It’s hard to fathom….
Early Bird, fall back insurance, sack Clarke appoint Hourihane until EOS, PR exercise to shift season tickets
We need shut of our owners and stupid small town, thankful we have a club mantra. It's pathetic. It really is.
Always next season Charlton finished 16th last season and have a great chance of the play offs. Sold there top scorer in the summer too. It's football hopefully the owners make some changes in the summer and go again next season if they don't sell.
