Seven ex reds in the WBA matchday squad. Helik for Oxford but no Bradshaw. Mowatt scores against old club.

3 in each of the Coventry and Blackburn squads, so have a spell at Barnsley and you'll probably play for a bigger club. Thats how you sell it Mladen.

We don't want to sell it, time they got rid of the stepping stone ********. Luton didn't sell themselves like that when they gained promotion from league 1

Luton have been a top flight side and cup winners in my lifetime, Barnsley have had one top flight season ever. Yes Luton went out of the league but I bet they attracted better players and paid more than Bfc did. We have to offer something as the wages aren't the best.

Luton have also been non league. They attracted many of barnsleys players we didn't want like moncur, elliot Lee, matty Pearson etc at 1st

It's irrelevant in your lifetime, it's what's happening now so when Luton gained promotion to the championship after years in the wilderness and non-league they were hardly big spenders and not advertising their club as a stepping stone. That's part of the problem at Oakwell.

I've just read a report and comments on the game. It seems that Mowatt had an excellent match. "Mowatt ran the show" was one comment from a Baggies fan. An Oxford fan remarked: " Mowatt was the conductor of the orchestra". I wish we still had him. He was a terrific player for us.

Yep, had everything really for a midfield player. Goals, good passer, good set-piece taker, leader, got stuck in as well, decent engine etc...

Only thing he lacked was that bit of pace. If he was a bit quicker, he'd be top half/ mid table of prem in my opinion. Lovely footballer.

I've only seen Redfearn be better for us in midfield than him that season under Val.

Luton were a stepping stone club though when moving up the ranks. Just an anomaly what happened to them.

Mowatt was criminally underrated on here as well. The amount of posts I used to read saying he was easily replaceable & that Styles would slot into his role.

Exceptional player for us. Best central midfielder we’ve had since Hignett left.

Great goal today. Well timed run in behind, sorted his feet out and had the composure to easily beat the keeper. I would so love to see the reds create one on ones like that.

Gordon, oh dear, your from this area, like me. We know how good it is but outsiders don't. Just the name puts lots off but lots that have signed, have to live in Leeds! Posh tower block is very popular. Go on, Gordon, why sign for Barnsley? Huddersfield have a better recent history, sorry they pay more too. Oh, we lost players and a manager to them. We are a feeder club Gordon, get over it. We lose physios to Huddersfield, staticisions to everyone and fitness coaches to Birmingham Academy, just a few weeks ago. Money talks Gordon

Duff was approached and was considering a return till Huddersfield came in. We lost Stendel when he, reportably, wanted to go there so he was dismissed. It was all over the news

His departure from Oakwell, along with Ismael's,was a significant factor, in my opinion, in our rapid decline from making the play-offs for the Premier League in 2021 to being relegated to League One in 2022.

Why do people think we are bigger than what we are? Even Mick Butler left for Huddersfield. Gordon said we let players go to Luton that we didn't want? Who didn't want them? Pearson, now Huddersfield good player, Elliott Lee, Wrexham etc... we made a mess. We have no right

I haven’t seen any evidence to prove or disprove Duff was coming back, but if Stendel was being courted by Huddersfield, it will probably have been when they still had some parachute money.
