He might be a sack of crap or bag of w@nk. He flew over from America after a zoom call and hugged a touchline for twenty minutes.

He'll do for me. The last man that flew over from America the club 5hit on.

The way we are set up I don’t think we ever planned on signing an out and out Striker like the fans keep clamouring for.
You’d have to lose either DKD or Phillips to do it

Or just play the striker alongside DKD and drop Humphrys

Different tactics then, humphries isn’t suppose to be an out and out striker

You are correct that he isn’t an out and out striker. But as we haven’t signed one he his having to play as one. It’s nothing to do tactics, we just don’t have sufficient striking options

It’s everything to do with tactics if you play a goal scorer you have to play different formation.

But that's where he's played. He's not ideally suited to it but he's all we've got when Watters, who is an out and out striker, is injured. When Watters is fit Clarke tends to play him.

Well for me mate he his asking Humphrey’s to play as an out and out striker at the moment. The fact that he isn’t one is why he probably isn’t producing the goods at present

Save our season? From what? The apocalypse? The second coming? Terrorists?
I think what you’re expecting from a club that’s run on a shoestring is somewhat disproportionate.

    Our subs last night were
    Flavell
    Lembikisa
    Gent
    Mccarthy
    Benson
    Watters
    Rodrigues

Unfortunately how could Lewis be ahead of any of those 7?
Secondly Clarke had subbed on Watters for Humphrys in the second half and when MDG got his red card there was no way Clarke was going to bring on Rodrigues for Keillor-Dunn when we had to cover the centre back position hence Mccarthy being brought on.

It's a squad game and I might not be Clarke's biggest fan but you cannot have a go at him for the squad selection and subs made last night.

Rodrigues and Lewis have been brought in as much needed cover and we also now have Watters back in the squad.

Too true but let's hope that we've learnt from the shocking transfer window.

    All about opinions bud.
For me we are trying to play in such a way that the players stretch the game and allow DKD & Phillips pick up the pieces if they played a goal scorer like Cole they wouldn’t be as effective.
The problem we have is we don’t have a player that the ball can stick to which would bring the others into it more again IMO an out and out Striker wouldn’t allow this either.

For his pace not his goal scoring ability

You've changed the parameters, you said

Watters is an out and out striker. He's played as one. When he's not fit we play Humphrys as an out and out striker. Not his best position but as we didn't sign any others he has to fill in.

Had we signed an out and out striker, like we should have done, he would be played as one, without any change of tactics.

You didn't mention goal scoring ability you said striker.

I will say Humphrys got a good assist at least

I liked Humphrys to start with but he’s got progressively worse. He looks off the pace and gives the ball away too often. He hasn’t scored or even looked like scoring since November.
That said, he at least managed an assist last night.

Agree, he can show moments of real quality but it's all in flashes, in general his work rate is appalling at times, I've no idea if it's a fitness thing or a mentality with him.

Whether you rate him or not Stephen Humphrys is a forward. He signed as a forward and has played as a forward all his career. He might not be the traditional target man but does Clarke want to play with a target man?
We compare very well with most of our rivals in the scoring chart so maybe we don't need to play the way some fans want. When I was younger I loved the old fashioned big striker little striker combination but footballs changed now and I prefer goals to come from all over the park.

When did we start calling wingers forwards? Don’t ever recall Bullock or Hammill being referred to as forwards.

    Humphrys is a winger.
