Lembikisa can't tackle , out of position, can't pass Should never set foot on the pitch again this season
I thought you were talking about O’Keeffe but Dexter was terrible as well. Gent’s been dragged off several times in the first half as well. How can a team that employs a system where the most important players are the wing backs have so many underperforming wing backs?
Don't worry about that....our recruitment team seem to think that Rodriquez is a championship like player...when I saw that cameo today....I was thinking about Graham Souness when he was Southampton coach and played some no mark from the pub league as sub who he had been told was George Weir's cousin!!
The only defence I can make is that the #7 who ripped him a new one was the best performance I have seen this season. He changed them completely and was a flick away from an equaliser
His positional sense left a lot to be desired - wrong side of his man everytime. Schoolboy stuff at times
The problem there is that O’Keeffe was hooked at half time today for being as bad or worse defensively, plus both left wing backs might be injured Tuesday given Ferrugia has been out and Gent went off injured today. Scarily both O’Keeffe and Lembikisa may have to start at Charlton. What could go wrong?
I watch him week in, week out & apart from a decent period between October & Christmas he’s been poor. I walked out of Oakwell after the Huddersfield game & there was a Reds fan walking nearby having a rant & he said ‘people tell me O’Keeffe’s good cos he’s got some assists but my eyes tell me he’s *****’ & for the most part I think that sums up how I feel watching him.
I’m 55 and can’t feel much below my neck, but I don’t think I’d have been much worse than Lembikisa today. He seemed to get everything wrong. But O’Keeffe was about two seconds away from being sent off for timewasting in the first half, when he took an age to take a throw in. Had it been one of the other players he would have got a yellow.
im just highlighting the stats. “Some assists” = most in his position in the league. If we were looking to sign a wing back based on the number of assists he would be top of your list. He’s a limited player. Defensively poor and loses his head but in terms of impacting games offensively we would struggle to get someone who did more.
His position? Are there stats somewhere for right wing back? I can only find anything on transfer markt- says he has the most (seven) for right backs - but he isn’t a right back and is being compared with a lot of players that play in a four. Ironically if you look at the games they actually have him marked as playing right midfield in the games but then on the assists page saying he’s got seven from right back. He got four assists in five games after Christmas - that’s good - but defensively he’s a liability. We saw it Tuesday. He tried his best to do it again today, was hooked at half time and his replacement as bad and arguably worse defensively - but useless on the ball other than that as well. So the choice is a wing back who has shown consistently he can’t defend but can put a ball in the box when on form, or a lad that appears to have won a premier league pro contract in a raffle.
The only player in the league with more assists is Ryan Barnett at Wrexham who plays either as left sided forward or a winger. So in his position his stats are the best in L1. compared to his replacement he is prime time Roberto Carlos. But I agree a limited L1 player but of those we have he is the best and attacking wise his stats are very good.
