Is it just me, or do they always have a much higher than average number of divvy-anos amongst their fanbase?
Never noticed many of there fans before or after the game really. Plenty of police knocking about though so maybe they have abit of a reputation. I know last season they went to the courthouse waited for it to open and all went in.
Never had a problem in the pubs on an away day there and their fanzone is one of the best. Maybe like us, their loons stand out more on way days.
I think they've always had a very lively following without necessarily causing trouble. There was a large police operation today, overkill. About 8 young Lincoln fans got escorted to the station by 15 or more police officers afterwards. Totally over the top.
Thinking exactly the same walking back to the train station - quite a few giving it the big I am with those walking across the bridge
Bearing in mind they're the only professional club for miles around and the entire county of Lincolnshire outside of Lincoln is completely inbred, this is hardly surprising. There would be even more of them, but Boston folk have their own team to support. Plus they're not allowed outside their city boundaries unsupervised.
From memory, when we played them last season, I heard someone talking to a policeman about their presence that day, and they said that Lincoln do have a tendency to cause trouble. I think they had the away game before we played them which heightened it for our game. I also remember a group of about 10 young uns running from police from the back of the Courthouse too. So aye, I think they have the extra idiot per village than the norm.
Not only that, but Lincoln is surrounded by a LOT of villages. The gene pool is definitely rather limited in some places round here.
Definitely on the low side. However, they have been absolutely awful for months now. There's a lot of discontent with Skubala creeping in. Personally, I didn't think they were too bad. Calamitous in defence, but looked very lively going forward. 4-1 was definitely not a true reflection of the game at that point.
Interesting to look at the Xg for yesterday Barnsley scored 4 but with an Xg of 0.82. We had some excellent finishing yesterday with only one chance from Phillips we could have scored but didn’t Lincoln scored 3 from an Xg of 1.65. So their finishing was also pretty decent when we set up their chances for them. Game could easily have finished 1-2. Based on the Xg
There's a pub on the way in, is it The Silkstone? They seemed to have taken over that and seemed 'vocal' about the fact as I drove past.
Just been chatting to my mate who's a Imps ST holder. Says Jackson has been tremendous for them over the years, but age and injuries really catching up with him now.
Expected goals. Ie the number of goals you would score on average from the number and quality of chances created. It’s based on stats I’m on what percentage similar chances are scored. it is a bit flawed though as it doesn’t take account of the players. So DKD’s goal for example would have the same rating whether it fell to him or to Rodreagues Also it doesn’t take the keeper into account either
