    He may or may not have been concentrating on the other side - but he got there, went down in instalments and the ball went in under him.

    It was poor all round yes but it doesn’t mean Smith wasn’t as much to blame as anyone else.

    And yet when he isn’t in the team we consistently see us being overran in the middle of the park.

    He’s been poor on the ball in recent months but we don’t half miss his shielding when we play Nwakali or Russell there.

    I actually think, a wayward shot and one or two passes aside, that he’s been decent on the ball tonight too.
