If we're losing 700k a month they need their heads testing - both for wanting to do it and having to. They need to get the right people in charge and sharpish.
They must be sticking half a million on a hundred to one outsider each month hoping for a big pay day
I’ll be honest, I never gave the rumour a second thought until Gally just mentioned the 700k a month figure. Now I’m a little worried. That’s unsustainable and if not addressed soon this rumour could become true by default. Even people with these guys supposed wealth can’t keep up those payments. Especially on a hobby.
There's a budget shortfall of £8 million per year BBS: Meh There's a budget shortfall of £700 thousand per month BBS: How is that even possible?! This is outrageous!
This ^^ i wrote it a few months ago, but we have been very poor at managing our squad. This has been consistently poor at finding saleable players, quality to compete as we have had a steady decline (or rapid after the championship playoffs), not extended many contracts so departures on a free and wasted money to loan out or fill the bench. While it’s commendable that our owners fund losses it isnt sustainable to keep making them. I cant see any future continuing like this with further decline and hence to sell up may be the only option to protect the owners pockets and get the club back on the up.
. It’s also never been recorded. Biggest operating loss was 22/23 of £5.9m offset by £1.9m of player sales profit. 23/24 is out by the end of the month. Likely similar operating loss offset by player sales. Unless salaries have increased by 30% the £8m a year loss looks a bit on the high side, more like £6m.
Why would they have put in another 3 million 2 months ago if they were planning on putting the club in administration? It just wouldn’t make sense and either the person you’ve spoken to is dissatisfied and trying to cause trouble or you’ve just made it up.
With the difference in EFL and Premiership redistribution. It was reputed our share compared to the championship was that figure around £8 million I seem to remember. Wages were a stumbling block. And lack of tranfer revenue in certain cases doesn't help. neither does our league standing. Its easy to see why the directors are having to put in so much money. Strategy needs altering imo to go for better quality players over bringing in quantity for development. Most i think have been unsuccessful. Let the Academy thrive. With our own youngsters.
Isn't it something lost in translation so to speak? Was it at one of the fan forums it was said, and they were actually meaning the drop in revenue from Championship to L1? Our actual accounts have never shown a defect of £8m.
From 17 minutes It's perpetually misquoted as an £8 million loss. That's not what Flatman said. It's a budget shortfall, if we make a profit on player trading then that is offset. But if you look at our squad now, there's not a lot of value in it. And what did we sell in the summer?
Gotcha. So in reality its no different to how we've operated these last few years its just up to now we had some assets that we usually flogged on. Now they've all gone we're a bit screwed...
