I saw this on twitter today and it made me chuckle: “The reason trump brings Musk to all his meetings, speeches, and interviews is because trump is so full of $hit that he needs another ar$ehole."

This is a lot more sinister than that imho.

There will be a Russian - American pact. They are trying to create a super power alliance, which will threaten and break up Europe. It wouldn't surprise me at all, that Trump gets Canada, and South America, Putin gets Europe, China gets Asia.

There's something happening, theres nothing that makes any sense whatsoever. Trump is being advised by Bannon et al, a long term proponent of Putin who has no doubt been funded by him in the past. He's openly spoken about his dream to break up Europe, who he sees as too liberal and who has created the woke agenda.

The messages about transgender, LBGT in the main, and foreign aliens is exactly the same rhetoric as Putin.

Trump has every intention of being a dictator. His idol is the worlds biggest

I can see why you might say that about US/Russia power blocs but I don't agree. I think Trump has little vision beyond the short-term economic. The USA under the orange man imo are more concerned with economic decline and the competition from China. Its not in their interest to allow China more rein in the pacific. China is a threat not a potential ally. Russia is also a threat even though Trump kowtows to Putin. There is also a big liberal/democratic tradition in the USA which, although cowed at the moment is still potentially potent. Its not all doom and gloom. There's also the prospect of Europe actually emerging as the strongest power bloc of all in the long-term if they show some solidarity. Just my view like..
As an aside there was an interesting article in the Guardian today which is worth a read. The intimidation of judges is worrying

At least they’re all in their 70s and hopefully things will swing in the opposite direction once they have gone to compensate.

The most worrying part to me about the US election is how much younger males have swung to the right.

I think as millenials now in our mid to late 30s approaching our 40s maybe I'm alone in this but I spent a lot of my life fighting right wing ideology and i had the hope that things would improve for the better once the older right wing contingent started to age out of elections, but this swing to the right from young males especially could mean that never happens.

I’m not sure what the solution is but I do recognise part of the problem. One tiny example is it’s International Women’s Day tomorrow and for a few years in a row, whenever I put out a display and books for it, some lads would ask when their day is and where the men books are. I would of course tell them when International Men’s Day is and explain that we have lots of books about men in the library too. Three years ago, I decided that we would celebrate it properly and actually we celebrate it more as it ties into Men’s Mental Health Week which also falls in Movember. However, when I tried to get books for the display I realised that there are barely any modern compilation books about men. We’ve got lots about individual men (and obviously in the past books were only men by default) but there’s not many that shout about being a collection of great men, or, if there is, it’s specifically a compilation of Black men. We know that men, and especially white men, dominate the history books but kids today don’t really know that and think they are being ignored as a group. Similarly, when I’ve seen photos of others’ displays for International Men’s Day it’s littered with books about misogyny and toxic masculinity etc. Things I do want our young lads to read about but it’s not a celebration of them, it’s more like a lecture. I’ve had a strict rule that our display only has positive things and the lads have responded really well to it. This year, we didn’t get a single sarcastic comment from any of the lads about ‘when’s Men’s Day?’ because they know we celebrate it too. They happily looked at the women’s display and looked through the books discussing the women featured. It’s a small thing but it’s important.

I think if you got both boys and girls to write down ten politicians, ten sportspeople ten writers. ten popstars, 10 business people, ten TomTom stars they would overwhelmingly be white and male @JamDrop

This is a good watch about Trumps present practices whilst in office.
