In fairness he had no money to spend at the time & Nouble did a decent job for him. A 2025 version of Frank Nouble would be our main striker right now which is quite concerning.

I paid particular attention to Russell yesterday, he kept getting the ball, turned to his left but nobody made space to receive a pass, he turned back inside and looked to his right, again nobody to pass to, players stood like statues, looked to centre but nobody making a run, so ended up passing back to Roberts.
Who immediately gave it back to him
    Rinse and repeat
Then with 10 minutes left we had the back 3 aimlessly passing to each other in their own half whilst Blackpool players looked on. No need for them to defend, we just played keep ball.
This is not normal, there is something rotten in the camp when our players give up so blatantly

They're all **** scared to go forwards in case captain Connell shouts at them again, waves his arms in the air, and demands they slow the play down and pass backwards

Happened all over the pitch. No player knew where their mate would be. The only 'play' we seem to have is a center half hitting a diagonal to a wing back.

I can't remember a Barnsley side with less movement. It's absolutely horrendous, and surely a coaching issue.

Agree. It's either a coaching, communication or motivation. And unfortunately that all goes up to DC.

There was plenty of movement in our last home game against Lincoln, both with and without the ball. Lincoln genuinely couldn't handle us as we swarmed all over them and three of our goals came from the forwards and midfield, as a unit, constantly moving and either nicking the ball off a toe end or picking it up as it fell into space.

We were defensively shambolic like when Lincoln put any pressure on us, but there was no problem with our movement.

Adam Phillips is a massive miss.

It’s quite funny that people like to say he goes missing in games but the whole team seems to go missing when he doesn’t play.

Going forward that was the best we've played at home since the first half against Wrexham, and Rotherham before that. But performances like that have become very much the exception. Plus Lincoln were defensively even more shambolic than we were.

I doubt it...Nouble scored 4 in 56 for Ipswich, which is a worse strike rate than Sam Cosgrove at Bfc.

But Nouble’s role was to be a work horse & win flick ons & hold it up for players who could score goals which he did & they were a mid table side in the championship with him starting.

If Cosgrove doesn’t score he’s busy fouling the opposition & not been of much use to his team mates.
