Great memories of playing this when we were kids. I’m not sure we adhered to the rules like these guys thought, in fact we probably made it up as we went along.

I was crap. Started with good intentions, but rarely got out of my own half and once I was getting hammered, I’d send my keeper (and sometimes the goal posts) to make ‘interceptions’ at halfway where he’d be stranded until the ball went out of play - usually by way of me conceding another.

We used to have a great laugh though. Deffo helped keep us occupied during the winter months.

Not a fan of subbuteo. Tomy super cup football was far more fun :D

Preferred this one where you pressed players head to kick the ball.

I had the Barnsley one from when we were in the Premier League, though I never kept them in the box or in good condition, so had to supplement the side with a few of the Norwegian side I also had. Fitting really, given we signed Jan Aage Fjortoft midway through out Premier League season. I also had the Wednesday one from the same season, who borrowed a couple of Chelsea players.

Yep, had that as well at one point, until my dad walked over the pitch and broke some of the players

Still got some of my Subbuteo from BITD with floodlights, grandstand amongst numerous accessories. Lost count at the amount of players I had to glue back together from being knealt on :D

I got this for Christmas back in the day, only thing was if you pressed the player’s head too hard they just broke into pieces.

Absolutely loved it. Myself and nextdoors' lad used to have our own FA Cup draws and play out a whole top flight season. We also arranged a group of play off decoders and would doctor the fixtures accordingly.
Accusations of cheating sometimes resulted in the odd disturbance and pitch invasion. And our parents were constantly telling us to "turn it down" as we imitated footy chants etc.

Actually I didn't have that, it was the one where you pulled the leg back to kick the ball  & had pots of paint to colour the players strips.
