Obvious choice for me and give him the tools to do his job over the summer. Don't wait until the end of the season, he needs to see what he is working with as our season fizzles out now. We took DKD who was probably Mansfields star man and they still haven't done too poorly considering they were only promoted last season to this level. Bring him in and having already worked with our stand out player this season IMO, let him build a team around him.
Nigel clough? He's been let loose at Mansfield brought in a full squad of pensioners and they haven't won for about 14 games no thank you.
I'd go for Warne had many promotions from this league with Rotherham he didn't have money to spend with derby he was under a transfer embargo. Knows the league, local. Would sell season tickets. Cons, not a yes man. So possibly rules him out.
Don't forget they were league 2 last season. That first season is almost always about trying to survive in the higher tier. Not sure what you expect him to do? Bring in young international players from the premier league? He is working with the financial restraints. How much have they allowed him to spend from the DKD sale to us? Think he only had to bring in free transfers. Knows the division inside out as well. 100% would be first person I would look to.
