I can cope with bad signings. That can happen but to start the season with only one left wing back at the club who’s a young inexperienced kid is just incompetence. To not sign strikers when we knew for at least 6 months that Cole & McAtee were leaving is again incompetence. We were desperate for forwards in January & to bring in Lewis & Rodrigues & claim they’re forwards instead of signing actual forwards is incompetence in my eyes. To recruit Clarke with none of his own staff is incompetence in my eyes. Managers need people around them that they trust. Not a couple of club legends that he doesn’t know who will get linked to the job every time we have a bad run of form.
I found it very interesting that during his interview on the club social media, Conor made a big point of referring to Harban coming up. Sounds like he’ll be his number two. He didn’t refer to Stead or Devaney once.
I don’t know much about Harban. Didn’t he get temporarily promoted to the first team at one point ahead of Devaney? Or am I getting muddled up with Dale Tonge? I’ve lost track. Whenever I hear Harban’s name mentioned it reminds me of my mate telling me how painful his vasectomy was that his dad carried out!
Tom has had brief involvement before, in similar circumstances I think. When Collins left. He’s a really good lad and it’s pleasing that he and Conor get on. Nice to have a Barnsley lad involved too! As for his dad, that reminds me of the daily COVID tests we had to do when arriving at the club on a morning. A queue of staff and players. With three people doing the swabbing. We all prayed for Vikki, as she was very gentle. If you ended up with Doc Harban it felt like he was trying to pull your brain out of your nose. Bless him. Funny bloke though.
I think it's pathetic that Neerav hasn't taken action to remove this moron from post. He's sacked 2 head coaches to save himself, he's absolutely ******* clueless and just making it up as he goes along. He will destroy this football club and take us towards League 2 next season. Wake up Neerav and JAQ and get rid now.
Or should the question be ‘should he have ever been appointed in the first place’ I think he should be removed from current post personally but those who appointed him need to be taking responsibility
This is where it becomes a problem innit in terms of ultimate accountability. He was appointed by someone for a reason - they'll be the ones knowing the context he's working in & whether they think he's worth keeping around. They either think he is or can't be arsed with the aggro.
I was surprised with the appointment of the DOF. I didnt feel he matched what i expected to see in this role. But hey i didn't write the job description. Which brings up the point, if we sack the manager for poor performance that impacts our aim to be top six then what about others. I feel we missed an opportunity with the DOF appointment. We could have brought in someone with a solid footballing background, with respect in a footballing network and one where reputation, respect and advocacy can make a difference. So what will the club do about it? Is letting the DOF find another manager the right thing? Is it ok to let the ST sales take their natural course? Do we go another window with inept or non signings? So those that support the continuation i would ask, what are your expectations from the DOF over the next 6 months and do you believe in them.
If there’s not change of occupant or operating model then there certainly needs to be reflection and learning - there are teams achieving more in this division with a lower budget - this means we’re setting and spending on the wrong priorities, or asking our manager and team to play in an unsuitable way. The most obvious issues are wasting money on unsuccessful loans, hiring players inconsistent with what the manager says they need, or to play in a system and style that they are ill-equipped to do so. A bit of pace at the back is a definite need; and a driven winning mentality needs to be given far greater emphasis in whatever stats we are considering.
Of all the stats presented here this one says it all " Sacked 2 Head Coaches to save himself" coupled with the fact he won't do open interviews tells it all..forget the club, the players, the fans...it's about self preservation and our club will pay the price unless he goes..
