I’d say blatantly lying to the public and knowingly plan on shafting the same people that voted for him is pretty low. Shafting the elderly. Throwing people in prison for posting opinions on X. Anyone that was friends with Saville or helped defend him. Same cloth as the rest of them
Can tell you’ve lost it when you go to the ad hominems instead of logic. [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]]-[emoji[emoji6]] me
Please post actual truths. People broke laws, they were sentenced based on legal guidelines. As for the nonsense about Savile, seriously. This is the mantra of the hard right, try and tar with the same brush to excuse the actions of their true idols.
You lose the argument when you completely make ******** up. ******** that has already been proven false
Nope. Because you're now lying about things that have since been proven to be false. Like i said, thick as mince.
Starmer and co didn’t prosecute Saville when they could’ve. Didn’t Starmer also block national inquiry into the grooming gangs?
In other Trump news. He thinks the dialogue with Russia went well and that there is a 'very good chance' war will end. Given his envoy was made to wait 8 hours for a meeting and then sent home with a long list of Russian demands, I think we can assess his words accordingly. Maybe he should stick to trying to halt the slide of Tesla's value.
I don’t consider myself hard right whatsoever. If the “left” put out a good candidate that can take the country forward I would happily vote that way
And what would a 'good candidate look like? Given Trump is so far from left as you can likely get, I'm surprised you'd look at something left of centre. What policies would you vote for that are left leaning?
Speaking just on US politics I was a big fan of Ron Paul back in the day if you’ve heard of him. More independent or libertarian than Democrat though. I have a lot of respect for Bernie Sanders too actually, don’t always agree with every policy but at least he has the balls to stand by his policies and stand up to both Democrats and Republicans alike. The problem is the uniparty won’t let these sort of people win a nomination so you get a choice between **** and less ****
Specific policies would be more on the social side such as right to abortion which shouldn’t even be a political issue. Better access to healthcare here. Better infrastructure such as trains, etc
Voting is always a trade off, you never get all of what you'd ideally like and sometimes you get conflicting competing policies. I'm surprised you voted for Trump though given your views on healthcare and abortion in particular. I can't say what the train situation is like in the US, but my perception is cars and planes (some for obvious reasons) are more popular, and given Trump doesn't believe in climate change, I wouldn't have thought trains were on his radar. Though hey, he's suddenly a tesla fan... So who knows?!?!
Yep I think really people were just completely sick of the last 4 years of Biden and Harris and the tanking economy and wanted change. Trump was going to create jobs, lower prices, etc- we will see if this happens but already looking like a con. Read a quote the other day about the politics pendulum that people get so sick of one side they think the other side must be better and it all swings back and forth. Could argue that’s why Labour dominate the last election also. Elon is a complete fraud and should be nowhere near politics. Same as Bill Gates and Soros on the other side. The fact that billionaires and AIPAC can legally bribe or “lobby” is the biggest problem of them all
Starmer didn't block anything - there was already a national inquiry which had run for some years, its just the Tories didn't want to implement it - another inquiry would have taken years again to run, so wisely, the Government said how about we implement all the recommendations in the first inquiry before we spend more money and time on ANOTHER one?
The thing that disappoints me is that people give the benefit of the doubt to people who should be in jail or a straightjacket. And there is a very significant cabal of influencers in business and media that dominate the airwaves which are increasingly pro populist/right, and it is these that sow misinformation, distort truth and encourage coalescence around people that should not be trusted with high office. I do agree that Labour won because people had enough of the tories. I can't get my head around why people voted for Trump though.
Did the economy tank under Biden and Harris though? Every report I read states otherwise, Obviously Trump keeps banging on about it but anyone with ears and half a brain knows he’s a compulsive liar on just about everything.
