There’s plenty hoping for sure. Gone for between 5 and 6k but I’m being optimistic there I reckon. Depth of feeling this time is strong I fear.
Sold just under 8,000 during the early bird period the last two years. I think it was just over 9,000 in total for the Collins campaign (which was down a few hundred from Duff season). Dunno about this season beyond the early bird, but you’d imagine around 8,500 or something? Prices were increased though, especially the kids’ tickets. So they probably made more cash this season than the previous two. Guesswork though. Bit like our recruitment of wing-backs. I think they’ll get around 7,000 this time, a fair old drop. But no doubt cushioned by another small increase in price. Would love to be wrong. Cheaper prices and over 10,000 sales. I’d have loved a striker in January too. And a fringe.
All of those very plausible bar one, trip to Turkey for YT, £200 season ticket = 10k not a chance on the striker though
I reckon a big drop off, but the majority of that being due to Sky shenanigans this season. My gut feeling is that at that point we'll pretty much have hit the floor in terms of people who base their decision on entertainment or optimism. Wouldn't expect another big decrease unless we get relegated.
A tough financial choice for the board with the back drop of the national insurance and minimum wage hikes. They must have really impacted us financially not to mention what Ive heard around spiralling league one player budgets this last couple of years.
Just for reference, as they often get used on here as an example of cheap STs equating to big crowds, but Bradford have just announced a 20% increase on their adult prices. Now £299 any seat. Obviously still cheap, but it's caused a bit of a kerfuffle over this way.
The way I see it there are 2 levels of monetary "perk" wen getting an ST. 1. Cheaper than POTD if watching all 23 games. 2. Cheaper still, if you go early bird. I'd get rid of option 2. fot next season. Just a one price strategy. An affordable offering. Gives the owners an incentive to wow us with their plans, spreading the sale of tickets from April to August. Enough people impressed (or fall for the spiel) then the more we'll sell if we see decent signings and a plan.
On what basis look at all empty seats last few home games where season tickets holders not turning up. I'm.tipping less than.than 7000 be attendance Saturday not the attendance the give out which will be in region 10000
Not sure it’s easy to predict how many we will sell, I really don’t think this site is a true indicator to be honest. Most of season ticket holders won’t even post on here, and it’s anybody’s guess as to how many on here are currently season ticket holders, you only have to look at the MDT’s to see how many people are only watching from sofa so I think we will have to wait and see. I do know a fair few season ticket holders myself and btw and none of them speak on here.
No matter how **** we are, it's never below 6k, we picked up a whole load of new supporters since 97.
Oh absolutely. There won’t be a decrease. And I hear you on the first point. And so if you know the fanbase are currently unhappy, and a price increase has to happen, make it a bigger one. I’m convinced you’ll always get 5,000 to buy in regardless. There’ll be negative reactions, naturally. But ride it out. Not like they aren’t used to it. Then you get to work from a marketing POV. Communicate. Address the many elephants in the room. Engage with your ‘customers’ and hope that convinces others to sign up. And finally, hope that you get a good coach in, successfully transform the squad over the summer and the rest will come back with positive results and strong comms. Then, that big price is just seen as ‘the’ price. I’m genuinely intrigued to see how they approach it. They being the staff employed to devise and execute the season ticket campaign. Some sort of flexi option from the get go would get a thumbs up from me. Try and negate the Sky issue there. Options are great, and offer more marketing avenues too. And once again, no criticism from me of the owners. They’re losing money (regardless of their wealth) no matter what they do 99% of the time.
There's quite a lot in the MDT, including myself, that were ST holders. I think there'll be more next season, mostly due to the sky deal messing with the fixtures.
