Nah looks like he’s had about 100 mins in total off the bench during his time at Oldham. He scored in their last match though.
My welsh son is happy (despite wales losing that he got to have this pic with Welsh/Barnsley player) and I’m happy that England won.
Vimal was happy too when he saw he had a Barnsley training top on too. He was one of the best Welsh players on show tonight too which was good to see from our perspective too.
A shame he’s not still at Oakwell, cos he’s hardly getting a kick at Oldham and these remaining games of ours would be ideal to help prepare him for next season with us.
He's a great kid and a decent young player. Watching the midfielders of late, it seems strange we didn't have him on the bench here at least. But hey ho.
Realistically though, I'm not sure he would have had much more game time here. After Nwakali's first game, people said he will be playing in prem before long and we'd lose him in the summer. I said I think we're saying abit much and let's not be disappointed when he has 'steadier' games because it felt we were putting far too much into cameo appearances. Anyway, Nwakali, Russell, Phillips, Connell, DKD (potentially), Benson & possibly Bland in that midfield role, I think it was the right choice to send him on loan, he looked good here and I expected he'd get more game time... Obviously now I'd rather he be here and playing until end of season but I still think it was the right choice to send him mate.
