If we are spending £250k on ‘improvements’ (safe standing) it should benefit all.

Upgrading floodlights to new LED ones gives us that, and also saves the club money long term.

Or even a new big video screen.

The FA are apparently scaling back their requirements for remaining seated at all times, and the safe standing was merely a way of getting round this.

I’ll always maintain - give the fans a good experience on the pitch, and improve the Matchday experience, then folk really don’t give a sh!te if they’re stood or sat.

Not one person was moaning about being seated when Duff’s team were on their way to Wembley, did they!

Without wanting, in anyway to disrespect the memory of those whom died in the Hillsborough disaster or to be insensitive to those whom were injured or lost love ones. My opinion is that the recommendation of all seater stadium, that came from Mrs Thatcher inspired Taylor report, was unfair. Previous to the disaster when standing was the norm and seating was less so, many supporters from all clubs enjoyed standing at a football match.
I just think that if there is an opportunity for those that want to legally stand at Oakwell, to do so, then any actions by the club to facilitate this, should be applauded.

Could we have a dangerous standing area on the East Stand roof for all those that whinge about anything the club does, there is even a whinge about season ticket prices NOT going up!

Could I also propose a safe lying down area for those who have consumed too much beer, or too old and infirm, or find the match boring.

So in the Flatman column in the Chronicle it will be in place for the Bolton game. Not long to wait....

If the area ends up often sold out, I hope a plan is in place to extend it.

So are they taking every other row out or just attaching a rail in front of a normal seat?

Always despised sitting at football so this is a good thing in my eyes. All seater stadia were imposed on us by a government covering up police failings. Failings this government of the people will also fail to address.

Pretty sure there will be plenty of empty seats available mate. It's not an insurmountable problem. Some of us owd codgers at away games. (Even sold out ones) move to vacated seats due to lots going to stand at the back.
Needs must on occasion. Inconvenient at times, but better than spending all game arguing and getting nowhere. As is often the case. If you watch wendy or man utd at away games. No one sits down..now that is a problem.
Not excusing it. It's just the way it is.
Lincoln away is especially a problem. Even those on the front row stood up and the knock on effect. I once went and stood in front of one on the walkway. Guess what he said. ? Needs no imagination. Couldn't make it up.
"You're spoiling my view." The Pr1ck.
