Just had a look at Tampa Rowdies press release about Stead leaving to join us and they were very complimentary saying “Stead helped shape the Rowdies into a formidable attack. Last year, the Rowdies set a club record and led all teams with 73 goals during the regular season.” So is he a good coach with a bad set up/players or a not very good coach? Also interesting how most don’t blame Clarke and have sympathy for him saying he was “let down” etc but the Coaches don’t seem to be getting the same. Not defending him, just putting out there and for what it’s worth I like a couple of others would say let the new Manager decide as always should be the way.
Lets not forget this squad were in the top 6 for over half a season. The defeat against Huddersfield seemed to have a massive negative affect on them which we haven't been able to shake off.It sounds like we were very close to a couple of signings that fell through in January which could have helped. We also had a coach who said he was glad the window was shut as we didn't sell any of his main players and he preferred to work with a smaller tighter group. Personally I've seen a massive lack of motivation and tactical awareness from a group who in my view was nailed on for top 6.
Hard to disagree with this. You have to wonder what Connell was on about the other week with ‘behind the scenes’ issues.
Will Devaney not go back to coaching young ens in place of Tom Harben?. It seems harsh after all the loyalty Devaney has shown the club, don't you think?
Loyalty. Is not always a good sign where coaching in football is concerned. It can go both ways. Because money can talk. And they may be off like a shot. I'm not saying get shut. But positions in the club may be available he would be happy to do. eg head of academy like Bobby. But he won't be going anywhere. A Head coach needs his own man he can trust. Hence why Connor may have chose Harban over others. If a new coach comes in. He has imo the right to chose his RH man himself. Whether that be inside or outside the club at present.
