Whilst I get he’s closer to home if he gets that job, surely we have to make an enquiry if he’s willing to drop down to that level?

One of our better recent managers, but somewhat controversial to bring him back. Personally I don't think he'd consider it, or he wouldn't have left so fast in the first place. Perhaps better for us if he gets a new job sooner then the board can't get too fixated on the possibility to the exclusion of other candidates.

I think he would consider it any job is better than no job. Especially when he's considering going to franchise fc a 30k stadium with 3k fans every week who are struggling in league 2. I'm not sure he would do too well here with a squad not as good as the one he had. I'd rather we went for Warne over Duff.

Has to be a joke surely. He will be getting paid handsomely by Huddersfield and if he waits a bit he will get a decent league one job.

I just don't see MLH rushing to division 4.

A quick browse of the squad he left behind and the one we have now should be enough to convince him he would be on a hiding to nothing coming back here

Our board has to employ someone who is naive about our workings. Some foreign ignoramus.
I'd imagine all home based coaches are fully aware of our modus operandi.

He knows the club well and openly admitted sometime later he regretted leaving when he did.
Just can't see him returning tbh happy to be proved wrong, he knows how we operate, its a far worse squad than when he came in 2022 and its a bigger rebuild than 2022 IMO, there's most likely a drop in the playing budget making the task tougher.
I think if there weren't any restricting factors and he was given a budget and asked what do you need recruitment wise and given a degree of assurances to build something it could happen but think it's highly unlikely with how we operate, but you never know.

Get what you say and it didn’t work with Wilson. Darren Ferguson though has gone back to Peterborough about three times now and seems to make a success of it. Usually makes the play offs apart from this season but he looks to be building a decent side for next term.

Given the way he left I’d definitely say nope! Too much pressure from a big part of the fan base if he didn’t get off to a good start

The Darren Ferguson/Peterborough/Grant McCann love triangle is just a weird anomaly.

The last 3 British coaches were aware how the club operates and were more than happy to sign the dotted line.

    Personally can't see any of
Duff, Warne, Buckingham, Edwards being appointed I think Warne and Edwards will be looking higher/bigger, Buckingham don't know that much about his style tbh, Just think we will look at the foreign option.
I'm going for Belgian or Danish

That would really sell some season tickets foreign head coach and the owners already said we're going to be selling players in the summer.

Very under rated spell, that second Clarke spell. Given the constraints, he did a superb job.
