Neerav in today's Chronicle. https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/31423/parekh-wants-fan-patience-and-says-i-feel-your-pain Not seen any one post it.
It's quite rare for someone who's just had a car crash to immediately go in reverse, then crash again.
While some aspects aren't inaccurate, he's basically lashed out at the group who are giving him stick. That's really not going to help the situation. Naive, thin skinned and really a bit stupid. Not good.
Excellent line regarding thicko fans., he’s not wrong lol Wouldn’t say he’s greedy at all, incompetent yes. However can’t attack them on the financial side of things.
“The ones who say we’re greedy wouldn’t be able to read a balance sheet if it smacked them in the face." Not exactly endearing himself to the masses, is he? Comments like these and the opinions he gave out about the top 4 squad we have is really setting himself up for a big fall here.
I actually like the balance sheet comment. Not sure it 100% needed to be said but when some fans are saying they’re taking money out of the club when there’s evidence they clearly aren’t, maybe he wanted to push back a bit. No doubting the financial aspect from me. It’s the decision making and competency I’m questioning.
It appears people can slag him off and he's to keep his mouth shut. The club have made errors and he admits that but he also deserves our support to get things right moving forward simply based on the amount the board have put in financially. Jean Cryne said when the board was formed around 3 years ago,"we have good people now in charge of the club" I'll take her for her word and although errors have been made they also as a board should have a chance to correct things.
I'm not sure he knows his way round a balance sheet given how the business he largely owns is haemorrhaging money at the rate it is. Neerav, a word of advice. Maybe not a great look to call the people you've literally just asked to buy a season ticket, thick. It's a bit Ratner-esque.
Do you not think that as a custodian and a representative for the club, he should rise above such comments or at least try a bit more diplomacy when answering back to them? I feel like the club is in a very hostile environment right now and the leaders need to do better in every aspect, including this one.
When you say ‘ Naive, thin skinned and really a bit stupid. Not good.’ are you referring to Neerav or the chanting fans’?
He might not be endearing himself to a crassly stupid abuse chanting minority. But in standing up for himself rather than just taking it, he's endeared himself to me a little bit.
His comments in regards to the squad last week and todays comments will have a more negative effect in regards to the relationship between the board and the fans than a positive one, and i say that as a supporter who isn't tarnished with the "crassly stupid abuse chanting minority" brush.
Years ago I was at a function when a bloke shouted to John Denis "get some money spent yer tight b " JD promptly offered the bloke outside to sort it out. Not acceptable nowadays but im not going to slate a man for sticking up for himself.
If anyone thinks that the next owner will be any less "greedy" perhaps they should think again. What's needed is a stupid philanthropist billionaire that wants to become a millionaire. At least the fans might have a bit of short term fun. See: Blackpool Reading etc. etc...
