Has upset Huddersfield fans while injured and his side away at Charlton. Charles was in the away end watching his old club and play off rivals Bolton. Bit of a piss take that I'd be fuming if it was one of our players. What's everyone's thoughts.
https://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=71463 The state of that. They signed him off the back of no goal in 8 games and 1 in his last 11. He's now played 11 for Huddersfield and still hasn't scored. What a waste of money.
Very unprofessional, I wouldn't expect him suddenly stop supporting Bolton if he is a Bolton fan which as suspect, but at the business end of the season against a fellow rival its a silly one on his part. Shows a lack of leadership as well from the management team at Huddersfield.
I’ve seen this kind of thing before (pretty sure we’ve had ex players in our away ends before) but not usually in this scenario where they’re rivals in the league and playing on the same day.
https://downatthemac.proboards.com/thread/120607/dion-charles?page=17 Mixed bag of opinions. I wouldn't expect him to travel to Charlton injured, but he shouldn't have been cheering on a direct promotion rival.
It’s a weird one. You see loads of ex-players supporting their old clubs. I’ve seen Mowatt & Kitching at Oakwell a few times, McBurnie back supporting Sheff Utd & I saw Elliot Anderson in the crowd at Wembley supporting Newcastle but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player do it whilst his team are playing at the same time elsewhere. It’s not a good luck anyway but it’s a terrible on when they get hammered
"Hes a good phase 1 footballer" what the hell are all the phases about now? All I've heard are arsenal are in xyz phase and now Charles is a phase 1 player. Some new football lingo ?
Don't see a problem personally. Out injured, a fan and ex player. Team playing 20 or so miles from his home.
If his current employers weren't playing then fair enough, doesn't show much loyalty really. If Bolton were to play Huddersfield in the playoffs If he had a stinker perhaps people might start to question his commitment. Just doesn't sit right with me.
Well that cheered me up. Seems their fans have as much faith in their club and their DoF as we have in ours. "Clowns shoes of an operation at the minute".
Taggert, Scowen (a lot!) Heckingbottom, Nardiielo, Mowett, Redfearn and Sheridan are the ones I’ve seen in with the Reds fans whilst playing at other Clubs. Always gave me a warm glow.
If that's true he must be off to Preston. Thousands of Preston and Villa fans couldn't get hold of a ticket, but a Burnley fan could.
