Has he reacted badly to what Conor said post match, and it's resulted in Conor wellying him in the gonads and casting him off to the naughty step?
Maybe. But it's costing us money every time he doesn't play. He's obviously leaving in the summer, we've nothing to play for. Just stick him in the shop window.
Unless he is injured I would suggest he didn’t like the fact he was on the bench at the weekend and maybe reacted badly. Obviously no evidence but it does seem strange
Conor didn't name him as an injury in his presser, but he did say some people would be missing for "certain reasons"
As good as he can be, he can be equally as anonymous. Meh from me. If he's been an arse, good on Connor. I'll stand by him more then Adam put it that way.
I get your frustration at not playing our "better" players but I don't believe - on current form - he's worth a starting place. Furthermore, I don't agree that not playing him will affect his value. Other teams will already know his attributes and will have scouted and reviewed his underlying data. This will not change significantly before the end of the season. Ultimately, it's a team sport and the team comes before any individual.
Phillips can bollux if his attitude is wrong. Good on the coach. Hourihane has done the correct thing if Phillips isn't injured.
Chances are he’s already been sold (unofficially) and is no longer our player. No point risking injury until it’s official.
If it is down to 'strong management' fair enough. But got to be consistent in decisions. For example "Clement lad. We'll pay you til May, but I want to give Dyer some game time".
He's already got a move lined up that the club don't want to put at risk due to an injury is my guess or he's had a bust up with CH for being chucked under a double decker or maybe a bit of both whichever it is we will be spun some tale about a mystery illness / injury and won't see him again in a reds shirt. I'm guessing the same fate will befall Luca, DKD and maybe Jalo before the end of the season. Leaving our "marvelous" (according to the chairman alone) DoF to fill the squad with even more foreign or non league dross. The joy of being a supporter of Barnsley FC knows no bounds.
The trouble is strong managers also win games of football when they cast aside players. Casting aside a player who is our second best goal threat when we can’t buy a win is absolute folly and puts a lot of pressure on DKD.
