If you read this board please just resign and get out of our club. You are killing us and you really dont habe a clue what you are doing Definitely up there as worst CEO/Sporting Director we have had
Bobby Hassell did the role on an interim basis, prior to Mladen's appointment. From memory it was a DoF title under Bobby, and was announced as Sporting Director when Mladen was appointed.
Thanks sheriff had forgotten about that but at least Bobby had football knowledge unlike mladen who replaced him wouldn't we have been better sticking with him?
Just some snipets to sample from our Sporting Director, particularly like the one about sacking Collins for the playoffs, but then we put a rookie in charge, fantastic strategy. Also like the "attack consistently" no mention of shape, being solid and defending, probably why we've no defensive coach at the club.
He clearly isn't doing a great job, however he is only a small part of the problem. Who appointed him? Is he responsible for the enormous losses the club are making, which means that he's got very little wiggle room in the transfer market? Imagine trying to recruit players into the mess the club is in, with a small budget, a huge annual loss. The club hardly sells itself. Having said that, I have heard a few things I don't like about him, including alleged arrogance when thinking a player should/would sign for us just because we have better facilities than a L1 rival. But my point is that I doubt we'll notice much improving if we replace him as the problems are much bigger and deeper rooted than him.
this is all true and i dont think people see him as the sole issue. But the fact is he was hired for a purpose that he is nowhere near achieving let alone exceeding. So the question now falls on the board / owners of what they do about it. The deep rooted issues through the club though are worrying. Unfortunately i dont see and improvement under the current model and fear it could get worse.
January transfer window, enough said. Get rid of this muppet now and then those above him need to find a buyer and go. Nererav and JAQ carry ultimate responsibility for the mess were in. They're absolutely ******* clueless at running a football club.
I just don’t get the double standards on here at times. Clarke - it’s not his fault, he’s been let down with recruitment etc Sormaz- he was recruited to do a job, he’s not doing it, get rid now. Yet the Chairman has said he thinks Sormaz is doing a good job given the financial constrictions. Before people jump on, this doesn’t mean I think recruitment has been to the standard we require just don’t understand how one person is excused but not another, why is the focus not on the Board, who employed him
I can see your point but Sormaz isn't the one who's pumping millions in - he's the one wasting millions. So yes the board are continually making crap decisions, one of which is to keep Sormaz, but its Sormaz who's at the sharp end making the final decisions on recruitment of players and coaches.
I don't think anyone is letting the board off, but he was employed "everything football related" Whatever budget he was given to work, sounds low but that doesn't mean there weren't players better than what we brought in and equally players we brought in were worse than we let go, so in all he's failed recruitment wise. Onto the playing style, we have players at the club who under 4 different voices have regressed into constant poor performances, looking shadows of themselves, delivering 7 home wins in 29 games, its evident that the head coaches can't play to how he wants, 1 of the head coaches employed he would have been part of the recruitment process. Whichever way you look at it, it's been a complete disaster of an appointment and a cost we could do without. I understand where you are coming from, but I think Neerav has sat back and let the bloke get on with the job, which now looks a big mistake. Fans are naturally concerned about the future and having someone incompetent in charge of what looks a huge task to get us facing in the right direction. It is a collective responsibility, but Mladen has done some serious damage.
Is he wasting millions though? Neerav seems to be saying he is doing a good job etc which suggests the financial constraints are more than we think they are. Also where are these millions on player recruitment being spent? It isn’t is the short answer, our recruitment of punts/unknowns show that. Lastly Clarke was at the ‘sharp’ end but is being excused?
By your own admission recruitment has been a failure has it not? This is why Clarke has been cut some slack, he was supported in January with Lembikisa, Gauci, Farrugia, Lewis and Rodrigues when we were sat 5th.
