I’d be interested in your opinion of a good summer and I’d be prepared to be disappointed!

A good summer can only be sack Mladen with immediate effect, after the final whistle if the last game release ALL the coaches and 75% of the playing squad, then that would requires some major transfer activity/investment.
Put the club up for sale and let’s actually see if anyone will buy us.
Appoint a head coach with a proven record at L1/Championship level.

anything else will just be further managed decline and heading for a relegation battle with small crowds.

Impressive presser IMO. Can't argue with anything he's said.

That's my take. It's too soon for Conor right now, especially under the current dire circumstances. Could literally wreck his coaching career before it's begun.

That sounds more like an “excellent” summer what you’ve got!

I think in similar terms, a good summer for me would be the clear out of the squad of players that aren't good enough and those that are on a wage that don’t reflect it in performances. Getting in replacements with players who actually fit the idea of what we are trying to do. I would like to see us ditch the formation we’ve been playing and go back to fullbacks and wingers. Not necessarily 4-4-2 but maybe 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. I’m sick of seeing wing backs who can’t defend and can barely attack but at least they can get up and down the pitch for 90.

Get a head coach in early in the summer and really get our fitness levels up because too many times this season some of our players have been “blowing”. Whether that coach is Hourihane or someone else, they need time. If it isn’t Hourihane, I would have him as an assistant still. Steady and Devaney can probably go.

Somehow, the club needs to get a positive mood going in the summer to take that into the season. Without doing what we’ve suggested here, I’m not sure how else they’ll do that.

I've said it twice before on here and I'll say it again.
    Appoint Conor now.
Give him full rein. Let him flourish and rebuild this thing.
He's bright. High standards. Great work ethic. Good footballing brain. Played at international level. Schooled by top coaches.
Give him time to rebuild. Talk transition. Blood young talent. Give him the opportunity to play whatever system he wants.
He knows the club. He understands the fan base.
    Appoint Connor.

The more bits I keep hearing from and about Neerav and Mladen, it just annoys the hell out of me.

I’m not getting hoodwinked again by a coach talking a good game. Been down that road too many times. Talk is cheap, it’s a results based game and so far he’s not delivered with 4 of the easiest games he could’ve started with. Jury is still firmly out for me.

    I've looked into future.

Conor get's the gig and wants to bring in some experience as his assistant.

He looks back on his playing career and brings in someone who he's worked with before. Someone very experienced, with over 500 games managed and a respectable win rate of nearly 40%. Someone who's managed at a higher level and also someone who know's our club and the fans.

It's the dream team, the Conor and little Lee show, coming soon next season

Go on then Ill do the job. Life experience, played football, coached U11's and U14's. Would be willing to work to a budget and importantly would work for 100 grand a year. Might as well be me. I'd get the players to play crap like they are now, I'd drive down attendances just like now. What's not to like?

Yeah me too, Id say keep him on in some role if he wants to stay. But I dont think hes good enough for the main job yet.
We're noticing little steps etc, bits of improvement here and there. And while they shouldn't matter in the long run, Ive got to admit its still annoying that we're not winning any of these games. And this is against these so called poorer teams.
Now we're going away to the runaway leaders who can regularly win games for fun. Let's see what if anything, we'll learn from this one.

No idea. I’m merely giving my opinion, and as I said, the results haven’t affected my thinking. I would like Conor long term.

Who would you like to see in charge?

Mael's first blunder wasn't a blunder. If it was a more experienced keeper, Mael 100% did the right thing in that situation. But he should have taken authority and cleared it given he knew who was in goal. A mistake. His latest mistake was 1000% a blunder though.

It does feel like we might be giving Conor the job. I suppose if true, all we can do is back him. Personally, I think there's definitely an improvement in performance, especially in the second half last match. It's going to take time after such a disastrous season though.
