Went to a local non league game. Free parking, £8 entry, allowed to drink beer pitchside (or pop, of course), lovely day for it, players giving 100%, breath of fresh air. There were three ex Reds on show too.

Checked the half time and full time BFC score, laughed at full time.

    That’s where I’m at.

I've started doing that. No bs, proper sport and don't need a mortgage to go

I spent most of the day driving my step son around viewing cars and imparting advice, test driving with him, with him ultimately buying. His first decent car, costing proper money, after several years driving a knackered old Insignia passed down from his in laws that is now ready for scrapping. Had a really enjoyable day, just me and him (it took most of the day), and the end result is that he now has that 'new car excitement' and is thrilled with the car he got.

Only checked the latest score once all afternoon.

I went for a walk around our country park (pit stack). It was lovely and warm, and we never saw a soul all the way round. I planned to get home in time for kick off and watch the game on the stick, but I was a bit late and we were already down to 10 men before I got in the house.

Weird feeling being out in the countryside when you’d normally be en route to a footy match.

Went to Rob Royd Farm Shop and had lunch. Got back home and had to take one of my cats to emergency vet. Yin and Yang day. Looked at full time score and gave a scornful laugh.

Bridlington have Charlie Winfield, Simon Heslop and Michael Coulson who spent ages at Scarborough.

    That’s them.

Big win for Brid, as they fight to stay up. A blow for Emley in their promotion race. Great setup there though, and it’s a lovely little place to spend an afternoon. Finished off with a curry down the road.

Need to check the fixtures for next weekend, see what takes my fancy.

Be great to see Emley get promoted. The twice I have been to watch them years ago they lost them both. Although one was Lee Hughes scoring three for Kidderminster in the cup and the other against Stalybridge at Wakefield trying to get in the Conference.

Can't be many as good as Coulson at that level. He's a veteran from tier 6 down.

Hope our two academy lads can get back up the leagues.

Heslop is mid to late 30s, similar to Coulson.

Charlie has a proper job these days and football is a part time thing for him.

There was chatter on the terraces that Emley might come up against some stadium issues should they get promoted. One side of the ground is just a fence with the cricket pitch behind it.

Really impressive setup though otherwise. Not sure I’d be as keen to stand there in the winter months though!

How did Charlie do? He's my dads best mates grandson. He was only on about him yesterday, had a torrid time with injuries.

He was solid, rarely called upon in defence such was their dominance. Really ought to have been five or six nil, rather than just two.

Took Wife to Brid other week ,had dinner and a walk round, then Brid match. She enjoyed it lol, lovely set up at Brid, much like the old club we used to have Ponty end YEARS ago. Disappointed and disillusioned with the Reds but I've stopped getting upset and down, not worth it. Why should i be bothered when they aren't?

I was sat by the pool in Tenerife, my Apple Watch kept pinging as the goals went in, it didn’t spoil my day.

You should try it in driving rain Andy. It comes off the moor sideways, straight into the stand!
