Based on how he finishes the season. We'd probably have signed Cosgrove on his xg from the playoffs. My point is that everybody's performance improves when their contact's ticking down and they need a new gig.

The plaudits he's getting reminds me of Cosgroves 2 good games against Bolton. Imagine if these players could put it in for a season they might win something or have a promotion on the cvs

Yep I was just disagreeing with your claim that now stephen Humphrys has started playing and putting effort in with 5 games to go when he's been fairly poor all season he will have the likes of derby and Cardiff wanting to sign him.

I agree with this. Similar happened with Connell when he was badly.

We don't know what his illness has been, how serious it was, whether he's fully over it, how badly it affected him physically and mentally.

He spoke about how much weight he lost earlier in the season, and to regain fitness during a season is a difficult thing to do

I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Think we’ll probably let him go at the end of the season purely because of the salary he’ll be on.
Cost cutting wages wise will be top of the agenda.

I suspect he's one of our higher earners given we only gave him a 12 month deal plus option.

He's shown a few glimpses of quality this season, and he can finish. I'm just not sure it's good value though and if we trigger the extension, he'll be on a higher wage again next year.

I think I'd rather let Cosgrove and Humphreys leave and try and get in one good striker and try and save a few quid as well. Whether we can do that though, I'm not so confident.

Minutes are a better stat to go off. Unfair to judge a striker or any player really based of them getting a few minutes here and there every match mate. Though I dont know if that's the case for Dallas

I think in terms of recruitment, we need to go down the routes Lincoln and Orient have done. We can’t afford the ways of Bolton and others at the top who will be in League 1 next season plus those coming down. Orient and Lincoln seem to be recruiting proper. Directors of football who have been doing it for years and / or managed in the EFL. Using youth to complement the experience in the side.

We need to start by replacing Sormaz with a director of football and then appoint someone who knows the league. Someone on another thread mentioned Grant McCann. That would be ideal if Donny don’t go up. Luke Williams the same.

Agree. Lincoln in particular seem to sign some great players for not much outlay. Their recruitment puts ours to shame.
Just googled their DoF and he has no playing experience at all. Jez George, who was heavily involved in the youth set up at Cambridge and managed the first team for 18 months or so too.
