Wow. Great performance and win that today. Much better set up with 4 at the back and players actually looking like they know their role. A certain individual missing at the back helped too. Loved it today and chuffed Jalo got his goals. Hopefully there’s a promising future under CH.

It’s funny you say that because we were saying the last quality performance was against Lincoln (before we rested the best players) & he missed that game too.

And when he missed 3 games when he got his red card, we were much worse without him. Such a good result today and this is what we do. What a way to support the lads. I could understand if he didnt give a toss and just strolled around like Brek Shea, but the lad works his ******** off and has had loads of good games for us - proven by how high he's been in the voting on here in the past.

    I disagree there.

We were excellent against Lincoln for an hour until we took off our best players to rest them for Charlton.

Charlton away was a decent enough display. Defended well & could have got something.

Awful against Blackpool but you’ve got to give a bit of slack when young Barratt was coming into the team. It’s not like it was a McCarthy, Roberts & Earl defence that struggled.

Can’t fault him for effort at all, he always gives his maximum. If you rate him, that’s fine. The game is all about opinions and who’s to say who’s right. Personally I think MDG will never make a decent CH in the EFL. He’s positioning is shocking and he’s physically too weak. Hope he doesn’t start another game for us.

Totally agree. Pace and Carrying the ball forward are his strong points but sadly Positional awareness, challenges and the ability to see danger are lacking. league 2 defender at best.

His positioning is 'shocking' because he's always left 2 v 1 due to wing backs. When he was in the middle last season he got multiple man of the match awards, in a row. I'd rather he didn't go forward with the ball but I dont know whether that's because managers are wanting him to do that or not. He's made some lovely passes leading to goal, last ditch tackles covering our other defenders, but never gets mentioned. He made a huge error a couple of weeks ago, infact, I think he's been relatively poor for last 3/4 games he's played in barring a couple of good passes, but I just think he's our new scapegoat and people will ignore when he has a good game mate. Just don't know why we have to comment on him when he's not even playing

Why? Because I share a different opinion? Hes been rubbish this past month or 2. But so has most of the team. Just find it baffling how fans refuse to say when he has a good game. I've slated Mccarthy loads on here recently, but I've said he had a decent game today, despite his positioning for 2 of their chances. But he's a league one footballer so it's to be expected.

I used to be the same with Pines.
Whoever's still here next season will have a clean slate and the opportunity to impress a new manager.

Much better with Mael missing. The defence without him made sure Flavell had as little as possible to do. He shouldn't be closing the gap so quickly to Arjan and Mads for appearances from an overseas signing.

The last ditch tackles he makes are more often than not recoveries when he’s been caught out of position. I just don’t rate him and never have. Yes, he can carry the ball better than most but he’s physically too weak for a centre half, positionally poor and makes too many rash challenges. Plus he’s not that great in the air either.

Unfortunately even at league 1 level his shortcomings are all too obvious.

I think we are all missing that the difference yesterday was that we had a left footed defensive full back playing on the left. Dunno what’s up with Gent, but if we’re playing a 4 Earl is more than capable to play LB as opposed to LWB.
Bland at RB also much more solid defensively.

Earl’s lack of pace would be a bit of a concern but he’d probably do a job at LB. He played well yesterday.
Bland looks a find at RB.
