My daughter is looking for some extra part time work in between college, she works at Oakwell in the Legends suite on match days and other functions. I’ve been really suprised how hard it’s been for her to find some part time work so far, if anyone is aware of something part time feel free to drop me a DM. Ideally she would like to stop within the hospitality sector but a think she’ll consider anything at the moment.

The older you get, the quicker time appears to go by.

My dad always used to say that I didn't take much notice.
The older I've got the more I realise he was right.

Having George once a fortnight has aged me. He visits twice and a month is gone. It's been nearly two years. Time flown by. It's weird because he's a different little person each time I see him.

I found time started to go more quickly once we'd got kids. I remember working with a bloke who used to say savour the time while they're little as it'll pass in no time. He was right, once they'd started school especially, the years just flew by. They're both grown up and left home now and you just think where did time go? Frightening......

I think it’s because time is relative. When you’ve only lived for 10 years a month is 120th of your life and it seems like a long time. It’s why summer holidays used to seem like they lasted forever at primary school.
When you’re 100 years old a month is only 1200th of your life and there for an insignificant time in terms of your overall longevity.

    Just my theory.

Cleaner. They're always needed, you learn stuff and you don't (usually) have to deal with bad bosses as they generally leave you to it after you've learnt the ropes. But to be honest, even part time work is scarce lately! So best of luck to the young lady

Back on topic. Macdonald's seem to have a young demographic.

My seventeen year old works at Dominos part time (in Donny, but still) - they often have vacancies, staff turnover is quite high (they aren’t mistreated, just it’s minimum wage so they leave at the first offer of ten bob an hour more).

Not sure how many you have in Barnsley but I know there’s at least a couple, town and Stairfoot? Worth an ask.

I certainly wasn't on big wages. D. But unlike many others I worked very little o/t. And that was only cos I had to do standby duties and volunteered to do maintenance shutdowns once a yr for 2-4 weeks. (Most times I'd manage to give standby away especially weekends. And I'd get cover just for matches on some occasions. Never ever. missed a home game cos of work) And we lived according to our means. Never bought a thing we couldn't afford, (only true loan was a mortgage). Wife worked part time after giving up work for 9 yrs to bring little uns up.
Mi dad allus said work to live. Not live to work. I swear by it. I know it's difficult for some especially on min. Wage. But some of those who tended to earn the most. couldn't get enough money and did work all hrs God sent. 80 + hrs a week the norm. Till the European time regulations came in. Some kept to em. And others would pull every trick in the book to smash em. Some got warned but never stopped.
We called em the Donny Mafia. Infamous.

Mirrors my own experiences that P. The work to live quote was one I used myself a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I did my share of overtime but nothing compared to a lot of others. The wife gave up work for 7 years when the kids were little before going back part time. Apart from the mortgage we’d no loans either and we lived to our means. Always had holidays though and the kids had loads of hobbies that cost. We just never had a big new house or flash car. Was never a priority.
