    I’d imagine other contenders included Warne, Duff, Ismael, and Thalhammer.

    With Warne now having taken another job, and if others or the immigration authorities have said no, then it’s better to make an early appointment and plan around a known strategy. I’d agree that the team have been playing better in recent weeks - whether that’s coaching, enthusiasm, or upping effort for a new contract we’ll have to see.

    I was told Warne and Duff would never take the job.
    So I'm good with CH taking the role on.
    At least some of the promising young uns will be given a go .
    Trim the big earners down ,and play the ones who will jump through hoops for the shirt.
    Not a overwhelming appointment, but I would be happy to see him give his best shot.

    He will need a good start for his future Management CV. That will leave him vunerable to my way or the highway.
    Hence the reason we never get a Warnock or McCarthy type manager or Duff/ Warne this time. No room for Coaches who want a say, Collins appointed to his first league job in this country and can't confirm but apparently Clarke was 5th choice so why did the 1st 4 for blow us out..Sack Sormez now.

    Managers need to back themselves - agree to whatever before appointment, but if those above give the wrong directives, ignore them and win your own way - you won’t be sacked while delivering on the pitch.

    The main question is whether the manager can build a decent squad with players they need for the needed positions, this perhaps despite the perspectives of those above on who is worth signing and what we need.

    Has anyone actually seen any of these various reports or got any links? I’m not saying it’s not true, but until I see any official statement from the club then I will take it all with a pinch of salt.

    I heard conor took most of the training sessions when Clarke was here. He seems to have a up turn in performances just not results.
