Well what were people expecting? Sormaz has cost the club a fortune in sacking both Collins and Clarke. We don't have a pot to piss in. It is a poor choice in my opinion like but was always going to happen when that moron sacked Clarke.
I guess this was the obvious choice. Don’t want to judge this season too much but he’s done okay so far. I definitely don’t see him as someone that will be a “yes man” like others have alluded too.
I’m sure he’s part of the decision making progress, Mladen, but major calls like that are made at board level, as a collective. Let’s hope the collective make a better fist of things next time around. Because a lot of them are losing a lot of their own money, which hurts BFC also, with every bad call.
The fact he's been involved in the coaching all season and has only managed one win since stepping up is a concern. He's not exactly set the world on fire since taking over. The only thing that may be on his side though is that if he does decide to go against Sormaz he will without doubt have the backing of the supporters so may be more inclined to stand up to the DoF than somebody with no affinity with the fan base. You never know he could be the next Danny Wilson (the first incarnation) but also could be like John Hendrie the worry is can the club take another managerial flop.
I think that they could be a match made in heaven, plenty of 110% stuff. It's a great opportunity for Conor, we've got a core of very good players and low expectations from the fans.
I’m not totally against Conor getting the job I’m just surprised the club aren’t waiting to see how it goes with the remaining games if of course the reports turn out to be true.
I think we’ve got to take into account, his first game was 2 days after he was put in post and one game he had a player sent off after 3 minutes against the best team in the league. Plus he’s changed the formation and style of play within a matter of weeks.
The Bolton game was the most optimistic I’ve felt for a long time and you could really see the impact the change in shape/system Conor had implemented. I’d maybe have liked to see him get a couple more results before he got the job but if this is true I’m pleased enough with it. Sounds like the players are behind him plus he gets what the fans want to see. He also already knows the squad and understands what’s needed which will be a help in the summer.
I seem to remember Duff didn't exactly have a shining start at Cheltenham, but that worked out ok. To be honest unless the new manager is properly backed by the inept ownership, it's all pretty immaterial. I'm more than happy with Hourihane, but without at least some backing he's on an absolute hiding to nothing.
I would be ok with CH as head coach........ but only if we have a footballing person as DOF. Someone who could also help guide and use their experience to support him. Right now random picks for players, coaches and any other footballing topic isnt really working
This season was always a write off when he got the job. It’s just about getting through to the summer, recruit and go again. We all adore this man for his playing days, I hope he cements his legacy over the coming years and delivers as a manager. I have no issue with this appointment, judge him on next seasons performances.
