Russell has some talent but as soon as we’re under the cosh he disappears. Not sure he can be trusted in a 4 3 3. Heart of a pea.
You can add Barry Cotter, Lembikisa & O'Keeffe to that ever growing list as well. Benson needs binning off an all. This squad is hopeless. There's some decent players amongst them who will be pulling their hair out.
Well done lads that was a classic snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Barnsley style performance. Wholesale change needed in the squad; full rebuild in the summer.
It's really disappointing to have lost but I'm still far more optimistic with Conor at the helm than I was before with Clarke. I actually saw a team with some attacking intent, a clear vision and style. We should have won for sure, having been 2 up on two occasions, but it's clear we have some absolute dross that needs shifting on etc. McCarthy is dreadful, as our most of the others at the back. We have two lads out on loan who are having great seasons that should instantly improve options there when they return and McCarthy and Pines are let go. Humps was electric today, real shame he limped off. Shame Jalo had a quiet game but that'll happen, he's young and still learning. Love that Conor wants to use wingers, need to make sure we recruit a few for rotation as we had to rely on two wing backs coming in there today which is a shame. Our season is done, and has been for a while. And as much as today was a disappointment to have got nothing from the game having been ahead for so long, there's a lot of positives to take. Get to summer and hopefully rebuild and go again next season. I certainly am more excited with Conor in charge than DC. Come on Conor and come on you reds.
Positives are I thought we were reasonably good for a decent chunk of the game away at a good side. But far too many weak mentalities in there with players who once again went under really easily. 3 goals in 6 minutes is just ridiculous. Also bringing on Lembikisa and Cotter high up the pitch before Lewis and Rodrigues tells its own story.
McCarthy has had a poor game today, on his arse everytime the ball comes near him, and let a relatively soft shot through his legs for the first goal.
Gutted. I think Leyton Orient are the second best side in the league & only a slow start & a 5 game winless run when they had no fit centre backs has meant they’re in play off contention rather than a battle for an automatic spot. Having said that the goals are piss poor. We’ve spoke about individual errors all season & they’ve definitely been a major issue. Take the recent Birmingham game as an example but today wasn’t about mistakes. It was about desire, tracking your runners & reacting to loose balls. You don’t get the full picture with the one camera angle so you don’t see the attacking moves from the start but you do see time & time again Orient players running on to the ball in space. They looked like goals conceded by a side that had downed tools. I imagine Hourihane’s reading them the riot act in there & rightly so.
I’ve just watched all four goals back & I’d love someone to explain to me what Flavell has done wrong. The first one goes through McCarthy’s legs & ends up in the bottom corner. The second one there’s some kind of mix up between Earl & McCarthy & Flavell comes off his line quickly & almost stops it getting to the far post for the tap in. The 3rd is hit first time & goes right in the bottom corner. The 4th is deflected by Earl into the bottom corner. Unless he’s done something wrong in the build up to one or more of the goals I can’t see what he’s getting the blame for.
I’m sure he is reading them the Riot Act but are they actually listening. They still get bloody paid no matter how rubbish they are.
