    There can be no complaints if Connell is dragged off at half time today as he has been diabolical - but let’s not pretend we have someone else in the squad to do a better job in that role.

    As I said earlier he’s so out of form he should be nowhere near the team - but he is continually selected as a succession of coaches have seen that nobody else can be trusted in the role.

    It isn’t just misplaced passes today though, he’s had a shocker. I wonder if Bland could do a job sitting - he couldn’t be much worse today.

    Russell deserved that. Best player on the pitch.

    I think we should have had a penalty too. And, DKD should be at least forcing Steer into a save.

    So despite it being another tough old watch, we really could be ahead.

    Second halves aren’t our strong suit as we know. Be nice to change that today and put in a winning performance after the break.

    Bland was shocking on Friday I felt for him on that pitch. But you're right connells having a shocker at fault for the 1st and just generally ****.

    Do you want Mael to stay just on our box every time we go forward? Tell you what it'll be a great way to get battered 10 nowt every game. Unless of course you design a teleportation device for him. Mael has been **** especially last couple of months, but blaming that goal on him is mental. Scapegoat.

    In brighter news, what a strike from Russell. Technical ability galore as we've been saying for last 2 years. Shame about his off the ball ability but just keep him up top and get the best out of him

    He was poor at full back yeah but he’s meant to be a midfielder and Nwakali hasn’t looked up to the job sitting deep - looks like Connell has come back out anyway.
