Have I misunderstood or are you saying Nwakali is on £11,000 a week?

If he is he's the first one we need out of the door. Could get three new players with those wages.

Nwakali never got a sniff under Conor so you wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in the summer.. Plus what to do about Lopata and Shepherd..?. Both seem to be doing ok out on loan playing plenty of games.. But we should now be done loaning these two. They ether should be first team regulars next season if deemed good enough or both sold/released. The time to stop fanning around with a large squad of maybes is now..
    Dallas should be payed up..

Ed.. forgot about lofthouse.. played 14 times for Burton since crimbo.. Always liked the look of him but only chance he ever got here was inexplicably leftwing. Not good on your CV to be behind Bazza and O'Keefe for the right back/midfielder spot tho.... and 25 in September.
If you can't hold a first team place down at twenty five then it's time to move on.. Same as Lopata-Sheperd.. don't loan, play or sell... Id say move on.. Anyone who can't make the bench minimum shouldn't be here.

There’s no way Nwakali is on £11,000 a week.

While I echo your sentiments, we have the practical issues of getting people out of the door.

Unless a player hands in a transfer request, you owe them all their contracted wages upon leaving/release unless you come to a settlement or they waive that right. So if you want rid, you're paying them what you'd be paying over the course of their contracts. This worsens our financial position by bringing forward contracted players who have over 12 months remaining on their contracts. It's largely why over the years we've sought to loan out players to try and subsidise the wages and then release.

Back in the day, Cryne got a lot of criticism for short term contracts for players (just 2 years). It just shows how difficult it is. Have a player on a two year deal and they only blossom in year 2 and you likely lose that player for nothing. Sign them on a 4 year deal with ratcheted wages and they prove to be poor, you're incurring a significant hit on wages with no or little scope to generate a fee.

Says so on Salary sport, not Capology. Apologies. As I say, I don't know know how accurate they are.

Apologies. wrong site mentioned. Take a look at Salary sport. I'm unable to post a link. But here's a copy of the first few. Obviously slonina wasn't contracted to us so I assume we paid a fraction of that as we did with Tedic whilst on loan.
    Active Squad:
Player Name Weekly Wage Yearly Salary Age Position Nationality
    Gabriel Słonina £21,000 £1,092,000 20 GK U.S.A.
    Kelechi Nwakali £11,000 £572,000 26 AM C Nigeria
    Conor Hourihane £9,400 £488,800 33 DM, AM C Ireland
    Stephen Humphrys £6,600 £343,200 26 AM R, ST England
    Donovan Pines £5,400 £280,800 26 D C U.S.A.
    Davis Keillor-Dunn £5,400 £280,800 26 AM

Interestingly Roberts way down the pecking order.

100% get that.. hence the stagnant logjam that we get every preseason. And why it's that old chestnut.. it's all about the standard of our recruitment.
But to also play devil's advocate ..
players may come for less wages but on a longer deal.. Nowts black n white.

Apparently he is getting some interest yeah. According to some reports that came recently.

Yeah, due to his age we would be due compensation if he went elsewhere providing we offer him a deal.

Kieran Flavell's contract with Barnsley F.C. expires on June 30, 2025. He is currently out of contract at the end of the season. Barnsley is reportedly keen to offer him a new deal before his contract expires
