https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0l672z3?partner=uk.co.bbc&origin=share-mobile Talks about the recruitment process, Conor’s appointment, Top 3 squad, wanting to incorporate more academy lads, age profile for targets, competitive budget, pressure on having a good window. Decent interview.
Thanks. Reasonable enough, but the shouts for him to be ejected from Oakwell will drown out any positivity.
I will reiterate it again.Don't be bullshited again, don't buy a season ticket until you see who's getting launched out of the door and what quality acquisitions are coming in(NOT THE 31ST OF AUGUST).
And I’ll say it again, I am not being bull shitted, I am doing it by choice. If you don’t want to go, then don’t. Stop telling others what to do.
Will listen later but I’m assuming that means he’s hanging around ? Think my season ticket next season will be at Wakefield Trinity
The earlier you get your season ticket, the sooner the club has your cash which thus helps dictate transfer spend etc. It’s also cheaper, the sooner you buy one. Just saying. Also, as one of the very very very few people not to demand Mladen’s head, I thought the interview seemed fair enough. There wasn’t much of the last window dissected, explanations given. But it’s in the past and let’s hope he (they) have learnt from that. It genuinely feels like they’re giving Conor more autonomy than some have been offered which is only a good thing. If he’s going to fail, let it be on his terms. I felt Clarke was failing regardless, but that last window only made his task harder.
Been critical of Mladen on here but thought that was a decent enough interview and I came away from it feeling more positive than before I listened. Let’s hope we have a good summer for all concerned.
I do believe this summer is Mladen's last chance. Support the lads though and let's hope for the best.
Talk is cheap, let’s hope there are actions to follow. Heard it all before from this fella and then he’s failed to deliver. Obvious from that that he’s not going anywhere. I’m renewing whatever but there’s loads that will be holding back. Gut feeling is that Conor will have demanded a say or he wouldn’t have taken the job. Hope he’s not let down (and us).
Agreed. I was going to post the same (again). I understand why people are upset and how upset they are, but I am fed-up of people attacking the people who still support the club. It doesn't mean we are overly positive and / or optimistic, it's just that we support the club through the good and the bad.
I've just listened to Conor's pre-match press conference (I'll listen to Mladen's soon) and I couldn't help but be encouraged. It seemed quite clear that the decision on his assistant will be his to make, that plans are afoot to make changes to both the current coaching and playing staff, and that the style of play adopted will be of his design. He even suggested that he's contacted some of his former team mates about signing for us (Jack Grealish and John McGinn will do nicely), suggesting incomings might not be too far down the road. I know it's all words at the minute, but there did seem to be a departure from towing the regular company line in the way he spoke.
I can see your positivity but equally I can see Red Mist's negativity. There has been so much crap from recruitment under Sormaz its understandable that people don't trust anything he says. I don't. If he lets the club down again it will be clear that this interview is a load of bollux. If he does something positive I'll cut him some slack and say 'well done '. On balance, at the moment, I think he talks crap and doesn't deliver anything like he ought to.
I’ll start by saying I wanted Conor to get the job and I’m glad he has but in that interview did he just say they had made up their mind before the Bolton game and the improvement in the 2 previous home games played a major part .. those games were the draw against Cambridge and the defeat by Exeter … he would have been better just admitting they were waiting for a positive result to announce him
Talk is cheap remember this bloke said we’d had a good January transfer window so I’ll take everything he says with a pinch of salt until otherwise.
I'm not telling anyone to do as I say,I'm purely advising. How many times have they spun a pre season and then signed a goat herder from Azerbaijan very near to the end of the window. All I'm saying is that on this occasion alone they need to show intent before the masses part with their hard earned money.
