    Historically this is a home banker but we all know about the struggles at home this season and last. Not tomorrow though. A proper win, not a scrambled victory. 4 or 5-0 is my prediction.

    Yeah think Conor was playing things down a bit in his presser saying Shrewsbury are a good side.

    I reckon owt less than a thrashing is a big disappointment.

    And when you think about it, even when we lost to them in season '15.
    It turned into the amazing Johnson/Hecky double at Wembley promotion season. :rolleyes:

    It must’ve been. I’d got it in my mind that the 4-0 was an end of season game. I’m usually better at remembering football stuff from 40 years ago than the last couple of seasons ;)

    Its weird that we started seasons late on in August, in those days Mick.
    Then they brought in the bank holiday double header, but even that has since been ended.

    Our first second tier game in twenty odd years, I remember it like it was yesterday. A dream come true after I'd followed them through the entirety of that long, long exile in the lower leagues.

    Yeah '81 was my first year as a fan, and Oakwell was an absolute fortress in those days. :)
    That means then, that I've never seen us in the Fourth Division.
    Btw, I wonder what the Shrews thought for that opening day fixture, away at our newly promoted team.
