Yeah he’s probably getting an easier time of it because of who he is. Hopefully a second head coach struggling with this group has emphasised just how much work is required, the noises coming out of the club suggest so. I’m trying to remain optimistic about the potential changes otherwise it’ll just make me miserable. If it doesn’t work I’ll have plenty of opportunity for that next season anyway.
Of course, sack a manager we appointed permanently just over a week ago, who is dealing with a team he hasn’t put together full of players who have been dialling it in for months many of which know they won’t be here next season. give it a rest you absolute crank.
Shut up you ******* bell end. You probably think Mladen's doing a great job. Unbelievable what some people are willing to put up with. The morons in charge should never have sacked Clarke. He should have been given the chance to re shape the squad in the summer but they've pissed more money away by sacking him. We have around 6 players out of contract, loan players will return to parent clubs so potentially quite a lot of these losers could still be here next season. Just what exactly are you expecting them to do in the summer given we're losing 600k per month?
It does not make anyone a crank to think Hourihane shouldn’t be in the job. The ‘cranks’ are the people that appointed him.
Lovely abuse! I don’t think Mladen is doing a good job, so chalk that up for one on your incorrect assumptions. what I’m expecting them to do is put more money that will cover the losses which they have said they will and is better than I would do when faced with people like yourself calling them losers. And give the manager more autonomy which he has intimated is going to happen. And then hope for the best!
I think it would be the opinion of a ‘crank’ to suggest we sack a manager who has been in the job for about a week but we all have our own opinions
It’s irrelevant how long he has been in the job. He’s out of his depth just like the person who appointed him. What he’s asking the defence to do is crazy.
Again, I disagree. What would our reputation be if we sacked a manager who was appointed about a week earlier? Who would we be able to attract? Also I think it’s unfair to judge hourihane yet. Give him a season with his own team and if we’re having the same conversation then fine. But this is the worst form of short-termism.
There was no need to refer to me as a crank. The point is Hourihane shouldn't have been appointed to the role. It was an appointment to appease an irate fan base and to sell season tickets, however a large portion of the fan base have seen through their bull ****. Mladen sacked Clarke to save himself. Let's hope those at the top manage to do so some wheeling and dealing and at least get the squad better balanced. My expectations for next season will be very low. If Hourihane gets off to a poor start next season then his role should be under massive scrutiny.
I don’t want to get into a discussion about sacking Hourihane because it just seems crazy with him being recently appointed but he should not have been appointed. It’s not the results for me, it’s the tactics. The tactics are some of the daftest I have ever witnessed down at Oakwell. We’re playing like we’ve got Konate & Van Dijk at centre back. I don’t believe Hourihane is this stupid so is it coming from above? Sormaz has already criticised Collins & Clarke for not high pressing. It’s scary. It’s not like he’s replacing all these lads in the summer either, most of the defence are under contract for another year or two.
I do think it is crazy to suggest a manager appointed about a week ago should be sacked so I’ll stick with that. also if his start isn’t to our expectations I think we should give him time. I suppose we disagree, which is fine.
I think we’re arguing about different things. My issue was the suggestion that Hourihane should be sacked now. Which i think is kind of crazy.
Whilst he was quite clearly nothing like the player he had been, I still find it absolutely crazy that we didn’t play him when we still had a chance of the playoffs. Even if he just stood still for 80 minutes but took all corners and free kicks he’d be better than the rest of the players we did play instead. He was just the sort of person we needed and he was RIGHT THERE. I know you can’t make him play if his heart’s not in it, but couldn’t someone have talked him around?
Conor has given us his vision and asked us to help by backing him and repair the disdain between upper management and the fans. His vision is to give us the high tempo fast attacking, high press, format, we all want to see. We know / he knows, that this squad is incapable of this standard now or at any time and as previously mentioned we are going to need a 9 player turn around and a fitness and coaching regime installed, that is night and day from what we are seeing. We have Conor, I want to and am going to trust him (call it loyalty or blind faith) but I just hope he can do it...its going to be a tough old season though.
Came out on 75 mins to go to pub. Called to toilet first and Zombienation tune came on, said to mate 'kinell we've scored! Didn't see that happening.
I agree but I think he needs an experienced assistant cos today he looked clueless against the bottom club managed by the genius that is Michael Appleton. CH has made all the right noises and given me a bit of hope up until today. I’m renewing….but crikey that was one inept display. Against a relegated side without a win in 14 games.
Conor certainly talks the talk. Where was the fast tempo, fast attacking, high press today? Slow sideways backwards tepid crap. We had that last season under Collins. At least he got us to the playoffs. Shrewsbury, an already relegated side, got the ball forward quicker than us.
I reckon we should give Neil Collins a go. We were in the playoffs on this day 12 months ago. But the board **** themselves because a few brain cells decided to abuse him. Nice one.
It’s all about opinions isn’t it? Nwakali is, in my opinion, the best midfielder at the club. Let down by poor players around him.
