They pleaded not guilty despite having a video of them cutting the tree down and a chunk of it in the boot of their car and phone records showing they were in the area. Wonder how long it will take the jury to convict them?
I can't believe the trial is expected to last 10 days. I've just found them both guilty in 10 minutes.
I doubt they'll be claiming they didn't do it. I would imagine the argument will be whether it was a criminal offence to do so (or if what they are charged with is appropriate).
They are both claiming they didnt do it! One that he wasn't even there! Even though it was filmed on his phone and his Landrover is visible on the video. He says he often lends his friends his car and phone.

They're both claiming they didn't do it. The blokes car and mobile were located at the site, at the time of the incident, and voice notes were sent between them. The mobile was disconnected from the network for the duration before and after, and the incident was filmed on said mobile. The owner's defence - he said he made both his car and mobile available for anyone to use, and claims someone else must have taken them both.

I don't know what the maximum sentence is for this, but I hope they get severely punished. Just a shame a wider spotlight isn't shone on crimes against nature.
