If you suspected someone was using your address to insure their vehicle, is there a way of checking?

I'm intrigued - what's led you to that suspicion? Or is it too early to reveal?

On a similar theme, who has to keep paying more for their car insurance each year.
Despite not and never, making any claims!.
My latest yearly quote is about £215 more, which works out at £18 more a month.
How can these companies excuse such a price increase.

Me, but not this year. I’m with Hastings and have been for 3 years. However, I always use the Meercat to compare like for like quotes and each time the initial quote comes down to match One of Meercat’s. Done better this year with some extras as well. All in all I paid £65 less with some added extras

Don't forget to go through Top Cashback to get to the price comparison sites. That way, you'll get the best price, plus some cash back as an added bonus. Just make sure you read all the cashback requirements and follow them to the letter.

We’ve had a few at work - vans registered to our address under a fake company. But no idea about insurance.

We get parking, speeding and red light notices come through. But none are in our name.

Have spoken to the police about it - very common apparently.

So we reported to police online and filled in the fraud Action website too.

Court summons are interesting. As the courts can’t speak to you, as you’re not the registered owner, despite the mail coming to your address.

They just say write in and that’s all they can do.

I’d speak to the insurer and let them know, and back-up in email too. I’d also log it via the police/ Fraud line as a fraud an get the ref. Number.

Frustrating, but not much you can do. Just cover yourself.

Ring them up and lie about a price you've been offered elsewhere. You'll be surprised how much they can usually chip off it.
