Bruce Dyer on Facebook is very unhappy with BFC media team (quite rightly in my opinion). This is in regard to the omission of Josiah and Vimal from the highlights reel of the first team debutants from the academy this season posted on social media this week. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/192BSdzKRc/
Didn’t Vimal make his first team debut last season? And Josiah Dyer is no longer at the club. Are any other players who are no longer at the club in the highlight reel?
Thought it was this season. Could be wrong. I can understand his frustration in a way his sons been released after been in the academy from 7. Bruce does some great work in the barnsley community with the young kids and often puts them forward to barnsley academy so fair play. He seems a top bloke and always come across like that when I spoke to him at oakwell and could play abit in his day.
If Vimal made his debut last season and the highlights reel is of players still at the club then I understand why Josiah and Vimal were not on the highlights reel.
According to soccerbase he made 5 first team appearances in 23/24 season including the game at Horsham
The comment was in the original post which has now been edited out. never said Bruce made the comment.
There’s no comments from Bruce on that post now. But whatever he’s said I think was erroneous. Vimal didn’t debut this season. His lad Josiah played in 22/23 as eluded to above - and is also no longer at the club. I sincerely hope he didn’t accuse the club of racism due them being ‘omitted’ from the video - despite them not being first team debutants this season. If he has than he has blotted his copybook a little. He’s probably hurt that his lad has been released - but there’s no racial element to that. And the media team put a post on regarding Vimal’s success in the national league playoff game for Oldham. What did he say?
Just to clear things up and repeat my second post I never said Bruce made any comment about racism. When I replied in my first post I was responding to the original posters remarks regarding the content of the video released. Upon reading the replies I was getting it became apparent the the Original poster had edited said remarks out of the post. I can only assume they thought better of it afterwards. Obviously this makes my reply appear strange, I'm sure the original poster would be happy to respond on here and confirm they removed the section of their post that I replied to ...
It’s on his own page. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19274W9jWB/?mibextid=wwXIfr And whilst he’s right, that JD made his league debut this year, the video is clearly of players making their first team debut. Which JD and Vimal did prior to this year. I think his comments are unnecessary and disappointing. But I’m not massively shocked. I’ll leave it there. The only criticism I’d have of that video is including Barratt. Who was signed last summer from elsewhere. Hardly an academy graduate.
He didn't, in my original post Yeah my apologies. Skinner called it right. My remarks regarding skin colour were inappropriate and not called for. So i edited my original post. Bruce did not accuse any one of racism. I hinted at it in my original post. I now regret my original post. That is why i edited it. Once again sorry for the last part of my original post content.
Well done mate. we've all pressed the button then regreted it, decent of you to hold ya hand up and appologise..
