Excellent save but I’m not so sure about it being a pen. I thought the defender just got to the ball first
However, that was a shocking penalty too. Henderson had already gone that way, and it was sent to him at the best possible height. He practically had to wait for it to come.
No need to make a challenge like that , which ended up as a penalty as was always likely to be the case.
I wouldn’t want any full back of mine to be diving in like that when there’s no need and where there’s every chance of a pen being given. As indeed it was here. A touch on the ball doesn’t exonerate you if you’re wiping out the winger after a lunge like that and you just get a touch on the ball. As VAR has corroborated. However, the City bloke did dive, I must say.
Well that was embarrassingly bad, practically a ‘ dislocated’ shoulder until ref gave Nowt then up on his feet no probs
Soft pen, keeper should have been sent off anyway, then he saves the pen. Palace score with their first charge into city's third. Great game.
City have been great to watch this season as they aren’t as good. I agree they can be dull when they’re dominant. He’s certainly not killed football as a spectacle. Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Palace, Spurs, Liverpool, Bournemouth & Brentford just off the top of my head are all very exciting teams to watch
Shearer is a full time dope. Banging on about how slow City were to react, rather than the fact that the Palace bloke was obviously offside. And thus there was no goal. In the first half you couldn't shut him up about simply observing that it was goals that count and nothing else.
