It feels like the battlelines are being drawn for the next GE. Trouble for Tice is, he's four+ years to wait to fight it. So if the improved relationship improves our economic position, he will be stuck with the tide going out - especially if older brexit voters fade away.
What looks like a big improvement in our relationship with the EU - or a "Starmer surrender", depending on your point of view!
We should know by now, truth is becoming less relevant when it comes to swathes of voters and a hand full of snake oil salesmen masquerading as political saviours.
Beats me how these nationalists believe that Britain is big enough to stand alone without friends and allies. Being nasty to everyone leads to everyone being nasty in return. If the tories are the Nasty party, reform is trying to be the Even Nastier party and sadly, we have plenty of nasty people to support them.
I watched his Sky News interview this morning and virtually everything he said was either misinformation or a downright lie.
Better rights for workers and stronger ties with our nearest neighbours and biggest trading partners... awful isn't it!
Live updates with more details here. From what I've read so far, it all just looks like absolute common sense. Needless to say, the usual outlets are already calling it 'surrender' (actually, they were already doing that before they'd even seen what the deal was). https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cx2jkz3d0drt
This is exactly what the Leave campaign promised, that there would be a deal made with the EU. Anyone who voted for Brexit should be pleased today, we've exercised our right as a sovereign country to make a trade deal that benefits both parties without having to be in the EU.
Never mind that. It's surrender. Looney left giving away our country. Giving in to Brussels. Etc etc.
Many Reform voters don't care sadly, as long as Tice and the like continue to confirm/validate their prejudices.
Anything that pisses Anderson Farage and Tice and the rest of the reform / Tories off gets my vote every time keep it up Keir make the ***** sulk.
Means nothing to me all this, but as a chap who enjoys 8 or so holidays a year, will this ease congestion at the borders? Been stuck in some terrible queues when visiting the canaries. Apparently all to do with brexit.
