Whilst we're all in favour, I'm sure, of the Club keeping us more informed with all things Oakwell.

There seems to be a flurry of messages being put out, now an open letter from Conor, signed by Dan Jarvis if you look at it lol, trying to drum up ST sales.

Sales will undoubtedly be poor, with the cost of living and the teams' poor form, they were always going to struggle to shift many at this time of the closed season.

I honestly think people, and I include myself, are waiting to see what the team will look like before they part with any more hard earned.

We've been let down badly, as have previous HC's with the recruitment. Lied to and gaslit by Mladen and folk have had enough.

I think they took for granted that people would just stump up to watch any old dross, and it's currently biting them on the backside.

If people see some positive movement transfer wise then they'll renew, but not before. I refuse to watch another season like the last one. It's just not worth the money, despite us being very competitively priced.... We're not competing on the field.

Stop with the begging letters and posts, Spectemur Agendo.

Ah, Dan Jarvis. I thought Conor had gone insane and started signing off his letters as Dale Jennings.

If sales are as poor as you've suggested, then what do you expect them to do? It's just marketing. It's not 'begging'.

It's your prerogative to wait to see what transfer business is done before you renew, in the same way it's the clubs to try and drum up sales early so they know what they're working with.

Biggest irony being the fans who willingly are staying away through choice, are the ones making the loudest noise regarding transfers. Transfers cost money.

The more posts the merrier. The more communicative they are, the better. For me at least.

Lead the narrative. Keep the fanbase informed. If you’re talking about ‘doing it together’ then yeah, involve the supporters every step of the way.

This is pure marketing spiel surrounding tickets, but I hope it’s a good sign, and that the club intends to engage with its fans after having a year off. Be present, be open and transparent. It’s the easiest strategy available and costs little.

If they go silent after the EB deadline, then they deserve criticism. But not right now. This is spot on.

I don’t need to buy a ticket so it’s irrelevant to me on a personal level. But I really hope folk leave the past in the past and renew, or jump back on board, whichever fits. Because this is YOUR club. Turn away from it, and if you think it was on its backside this last 12 months, then it’ll be even worse without its core support.

Everyone will be on board by October when we are 10 points clear at the top.

You'll never make it into marketing.
Drumming up trade is not begging.
How many times do you and the like bemoan the fact they do it. When in fact most of you repeat over and over again the same diatribe. We heard you first time.

The letter from Conor, signed by Dan Jarvis, is on Instagram. I'm not on any of the other social media's.

Now I've seen it, it is a bit poor. Though I guess the sentiment is there.

Why not mention all the variables which could affect STs sales like Sky TV coverage?

My International Season-long iFollow subscription is on auto-renew, so whatever happens, I'll be back for my ~60th season.

I'll be up at 06:30 PST every Saturday for the games, and even 04:00 for those bloody lunchtime kickoffs (Thank you Sky).

I'm probably the only one on here who is happy with the games switched to a week night, as they fall comfortably at lunchtime in my time zone.

And before I sign-off, MLADEN, as it now seems the BBS policy is he must be mentioned in every post, whether it's anything to do with him, or not.

I guess it saves time putting our next manager’s signature on it, very efficient.

Everyone knew it would be a hard sell this time, can’t believe the powers that be can’t see that.
Just extend the early bird and get a couple of decent signings over the line in the next 3 or 4 weeks.
Got a feeling they won’t extend this time and I can’t see many stumping up the extra £80 afterwards. It should be a no brainer to extend…..

    That signature is Dan Jarvis?

That has to be one of the most random bits of "marketing" I've seen.

Not seen it because I dont use Instagramv ,Facebook ,Twitter or other forms of social media. The club has a website but that seems to be the last place to be utilised. The approach just seems so erratic to me as to which section of the fan base is informed. I personally would use the website as the host for all things BFC then despatch to all other social media outlets so that most of the fan based are reached (or is there a technical issue with that approach).

I got the impression that was the plan. YT will probably be able to fill in more gaps, but the new site launched shortly before his departure and he asked for feedback on the design of it on here. If I'm honest I reckon the majority of our fan base keep track of what's going on from either Twitter, Instagram or Facebook these days, though that doesn't mean the official site should be abandoned, even if it's just to link to stories posted elsewhere on social media. A bit like the reverse of Newsbot on here.

The immediate and easy to capture audience is on social media. It’s also where people share things, or can engage with what you’re publishing. Which increases traffic. Especially with the f***** up modern algorithms.

You’d imagine the club database (email) is the best ‘widespread’ audience, but how many actually read the emails? About a third of the audience open them. I actually like that platform the most.

The website gets plenty of eyes on it. But 9 times out of 10 it’s because folk have been sent there by social media.

Each channel has its merits. So the best method is to use them all. In my book, you’d have typed out the Conor message as a web article also. In fact, there’d be a video of him talking directly to fans. As he’s walking around the stadium, with overlay footage of him as a player, the fans celebrating, etc etc.

I detest social media. I don’t follow any of the BFC accounts. I ran them for years and was glad to see the back of the comments and what not. This forum is how I keep updated with BFC.

    So well done, @Gally.

I agree with this. I would expect the official website to be the hub, and then articles disseminated to other social media sites, of which I only have an old LinkedIn account. Currently, I miss a lot, unless someone reposts it on this site.
